DeCarlo, who hails from South Philadelphia, learned about the auditions for this film through her vocal coach, Sal Dupree, who is co-producer of the film and well known for his many performances throughout the Las Vegas and Atlantic City casinos. Dupree is a vocal coach whose alumni include “America’s Got Talent” champ Bianca Ryan; Blake Bashoff, who had the lead in the Broadway hit, and shows, and Mark Indelicato, one of the “Ugly Betty” cast members. DeCarlo, who admits to being a fan of artist Billy Joel, auditioned for the film and landed the part of Joei Battalucci, manager of a singing (Cont. Page 2)

Car Enthusiasts To Flex Muscles
Despite rumors the DooWop Car Festival could be clamped this year due to a lack of funds, E. Passyunk Avenue will be celebrating its fourth annual Muscle Car Show and Street Festival this Sunday. The festival will be held on East Passyunk Avenue between McKean and Dickinson Streets, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will feature over 80 muscle cars, live music, DJs, WOGL’s Promotions Team, DooWop Singers, face painting and a Craft Market at the Singing Fountain. State Rep. Kenyatta Johnson will host the inaugural “Peace Not Guns Memorial Basketball Game” in an effort to promote peace as well as improved community and police relations. Navy Personnel host a cook-out every Thursday afternoon from noon till 7:30, all through the summer months, for all their neighbors, both military and non-military.
