Sestak Meets Students by R. George Linton Dozens of health care students got a surprise visit on Tuesday. Delaware Co. Congressman Joe Sestak was in town to speak with members of the Philadelphia Job Corps at 20th Street & Oregon Avenue. The former Navy vice admiral, who is running for Democratic nomination for US Senate, sailed in to South Philadelphia to tout his “Plan for Pennsylvania Families”. Sestak is facing Republican turned Democratic Arlen Specter in the May 17 primary. Most attendees at Philadelphia Job Corps are enrolled in health-carerelated programs. “Thirty-one percent of Philadelphians aged 18 and under are in living in poverty,” Sestak told students. I promise to bring more funding for educational programs such as Advanced Training funding to our cities like Philadelphia.”
