Over 1,000 union members merged on Municipal Services Bulding Friday to send a message to Wall Street. Gathering was one of 200 happening around the country as part of AFL-CIO’s Good Jobs NOW program. Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO President Pat Eiding hosted event,

highlighted by speeches from National AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka and State AFL-CIO leader William George. Trumka received sustained applause as he rattled off litany of offenses by big Wall Street banks – including collecting huge bonuses after receiving taxpayer bailouts.

After rally they marched to a Bank of America branch, asking bank to cash check for $145 billion made out to America’s Workers. “Today is about jobs,” Eiding told the cheering crowd; “it’s about putting workers here in Philadelphia and across our nation back to work!”
