Page 15 PHILA. Mental Retardation Services has long dreamed of having a Mural Arts Program murals depict people with developmental and intellectual disabilities as taking their rightful place in the community. That dream became a reality with dedication of “It’s all about community!” mural at Germantown Avenue & Sharpnack Street. Checking out mural’s progress are, from left, Jon Laidaker, artist who worked with Mt. Airy USA; Cathy Harris of Mural Arts Program; and Judy Kresloff, coordinator of MRS Public Awareness Committee. Laidaker listened carefully to all cooperating groups and their representatives, took photos of various community members and incorporated some of them into mural, which is on Photo by Bonnie Squires Herb Scott Catering building.
