Contained within these pages is the third collection of pots that have been returned to me from the United States. A number of people have asked me to create another catalogue building on the success of the first two. For 14 years I sent more than 1400 of my best pieces to Boston. The relationship with the gallery there has ended and some of these pots have now found their way back to Rhayader. The pots featured here form a snapshot or retrospective look at the last 14 years as I have been careful to select what I consider good and interesting pieces from the entire period. For instance…there are some salt glazed pieces from both my salt kiln and the wood kiln when the second chamber was fired as a salt kiln. There are some jugs from my ‘Jug Show’ in 2006…some Shino pieces from the wood kiln and Tenmoku from my oil kiln. If any of these pieces are of interest to you I am pleased to say I will pack and ship within the UK for free. Shipping overseas will be at cost only. Overseas buyers should bear in mind the costs of shipping….I will always find the least costly option. For larger items I will use a tried and trusted shipper who is about the same price as the Post office but where we can get insurance. As in the previous two catalogues I am happy to deduct a 10% discount from the marked prices.
Please email me at marstonpottery@yahoo.co.uk with the number of the relevant item to reserve it. I have been asked to include methods by which payment can be made. We can accept cheques or direct bank transfers from UK banks. International customers may make bank transfers or use Paypal. However, I would respectfully ask that the sender accepts the fee for Paypal transfers. A payment to friends or family incurs a lesser fee than a business payment.

A Tall Bottle. Salt fired with an ash glaze. Combed and incised pattern. 2005
When firing the salt kiln I regularly used ash glazes. I enjoyed the extra fluidity and texture derived from the extra fluxing power of the sodium. 16.25 inches tall. ÂŁ850.00

A Salt Glazed and Faceted Bottle. Side fired on scallop shells. 2007
When I made these bottles the scallop shells came from Cape Cod in the USA. Two friends of mine‌one a Pulitzer Prize author and his wife, a Japanese potter, would collect the shells and post them to me. The shells from the Cape came in a variety of sizes and an assortment of the most beautiful colours. 10.2 inches tall. £295.00

PR16. A salt glazed dish with ash glaze in the centre. Combed and impressed pattern. 2003 I used ash glazes extensively in the salt kiln. I liked the way the fluxing action of the sodium vapour created texture and new colours in the glazes. 10 inches across. ÂŁ180.00
PR17. Plate. Salt Glazed with ash glaze in the centre and hakeme. Combed pattern. 8.5 inches across. 2005 ÂŁ95.00

PR25. Pouring Bowl. Salt glazed with an ash glaze. 2005 Often, when using ash glazes in the salt kiln, I would get unexpected blushes of colour. Here the normally green ash glaze has become a golden colour on the side facing away from the salt and fire. 5.5 inches across. ÂŁ120.00
PR26. Bottle. Ash glazed with combed ridges and an impressed pattern. 2009 Wood fired.
11.5 inches tall.
ÂŁ375.00
PR27. A pair of ash glazed tankards. Pellets. 2009 5 inches tall. ÂŁ95.00
PR28. A salt glazed and ash glazed Jug. Sprigged design. 2006 Sometimes the ash glaze in the salt kiln took on a lovely, slightly oily sheen and this together with the blushes of golden colour gives this jug a patina that was neither controllable or dependably repeatable. 10.25 inches tall. ÂŁ240.00
PR29. Faceted Bottle. Salt Glazed and side fired on scallop shells. 9.5 inches tall. ÂŁ250.00
PR30. Squared Faceted Bottle. Tenmoku glaze. 2007. 10.5 inches tall. ÂŁ290.00

PR32. Salt glazed and ash glazed jar. Combed ridges with an impressed pattern. 2005. I love the way that sodium vapour adds texture and fluidity to the ash glaze. It’s a fine line to walk…sometimes there was a bit too much fluidity!!! 14.5 inches tall. £650.00
PR33. Ash glazed and salt fired Yunomi. Impressed pattern. 2005 3.6 inches tall. ÂŁ95.00
PR34. A squared and faceted bottle. Tenmoku glaze. 2003 13.6 inches tall. ÂŁ320.00
PR35. A Tall Bottle. Salt glazed with ash glaze. I
made a number of these bottles of similar form and decoration and fired in the salt kiln. This one was, in my opinion, the best of them. The glaze has a beautiful soft sheen and the colour varies from olive green to golden. The effect of the sodium has created extra fluidity of the glaze and gravity has been very kind. 2007 17.5 inches. Tall. ÂŁ875.00
PR36. Tall Bottle. Pine ash glaze. Combed ridges. 2009 This bottle has a particularly good green colour derived from iron in a reduction atmosphere. 18 inches tall.
