“ FTTP helped me learn to face the pain and not

run from the wreckage of the past; that it is possible to heal.” Stephen R. Single father reunified with his three children

ABOUT THE FAMILY THERAPY TREATMENT PROGRAM The Family Therapy Treatment Program (FTTP) offers therapeutic services to families and couples throughout Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. Services are provided by specially trained couple and family therapists. FTTP seeks to strengthen families and promote family wellness. The program’s counseling techniques are holistic and focused on restoring and healing marriages and families. FTTP helps families liberate themselves from experiences that have caused pain, anxiety, depression, conflict, behavioral problems, disconnect and miscommunication.

“ There

are very few programs that are

specifically designed to address family issues like FTTP. We are grateful that we have a referral source that is capable of addressing the issues that our families struggle with as there are many programs that do not understand the family court dynamics. Supervisor Behavioral Health Division, Philadelphia Family Court

THERAPY SERVICES AT FTTP CAN HELP COUPLES AND FAMILIES: • Resolve conflict and improve communication • Address unhealthy intergenerational behavior patterns • Plan for and adjust to reunification • Develop healthy parenting skills and improve parent/child interactions • Heal from past traumas and the impact of family violence • Understand and address step-family and blended family issues • Manage difficulties relating to chronic illness, mental illness, and substance abuse

WHY FAMILY THERAPY? Family therapy helps people strengthen relationships, resolve familial problems, and address the challenging issues that cause such problems. Understanding that couple and family concerns are often as unique and diverse as the families themselves, FTTP provides services to all types of families—traditional, non-traditional, blood relatives and non-blood relatives—and to all ages—from younger children to older adults. Committed to an integrated approach to services, FTTP works closely with other systems already in people’s lives—such as other treatment providers, courts and child welfare services—to ensure that all systems are working together toward the same goals. To this end, FTTP counseling services are provided wherever the couples and families need it—in their home, at FTTP, or even at other treatment providers’ offices. FTTP is one of the only programs in Philadelphia to offer these convenient options. Services are also available in Spanish, Chinese and French. All FTTP staff are trained in evidence-based and evidencesupported family therapy treatment techniques.
