I chose to study in Perth, Western Australia because it has a good reputation concerning the climate and, it is on the same ocean than my country, France. Studying at Phoenix Academy has prepared me for Murdoch University. At the beginning, it might seem surprising because the teaching method is completely different from the French way. However when I arrived at Murdoch, I was relief to have completed the EAP4 at Phoenix Academy because I have already been taught how to do proper references and how to avoid plagiarism which is one of the strictest policies in every universities. My course at Phoenix has truly given me a strong foundation in the English language which has helped me in my university studies. I have taken up a part time job in a popular Perth café called Chocolateria where I have met lots of people. I travelled to Thailand and Singapore for 4 weeks in June/July and I took a road trip to Monkey Mia in Western Australia to see the dolphins, to Kalbarri, and stopped at the Pinnacles, etc. Over the Easter long weekend, we also drove down south to visit Albany, Denmark with William Bay and the Valley of Giants and so on. It was awesome!! I’m really enjoying this great experience! I’m fortunate to have a part time job where I get to practice my English and I also get to learn basic vocabulary in the hospitality industry. Most of all, my part time job give me extra cash so I get to go on holiday and do some shopping!
