Box Lot Auction #1902 Friday 1st March, 2019, commencing at 9.00am 274A Canterbury Road, Surrey Hills, Vic 3127, Australia. Welcome to our second Collections & Box Lot Auction for 2019. This is the continuation of our monthly auction schedule (1st Friday of every month). This auction will be incorporated as the morning session of Auction 68 and begins at 9am. While we call these Box Lot auctions, they are much more than that, they include collections (there are quite a few in this auction), smaller-valued single items, postcards, ephemera and anything else that doesn't fit into our main auctions. Our website contains many illustrations of the lots and they should give you a good idea of their content in combination with the description. This auction contains several attractive collections and accumulations, including Cyprus, Falklands, Ceylon & Bermuda. As usual we have bundleware with strength in the Australian Georgian Heads, Australian Colonies with postmark collections, plus an interesting range of literature lots. Viewing is available from Sat 23rd February to Thursday 28th February from 10am to 4pm and on Friday 1st March from 8am to 9am with limited viewing after that, or at other times by prior arrangement. Clients will be pleased to know that our new offices are an easy 20min train ride from the Melbourne CBD, on the Belgrave/Lilydale line, alight at Chatham station with an easy 100m walk to our door, via a convenient pedestrian crossing. Street parking is available in close proximity for those travelling by car This auction will be live on the net via our own auction systems. Just login as usual and then open the ‘Live Bidding' window. This will then give you the ability to bid on each lot just as if you were in the room. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. All our standard auction procedures apply to these Auctions. You can bid in the room, by post, phone, email or through the website. In fact you can bid exactly the same way you do with our normal public auctions. If you intend to bid live online and have any queries as to how our online bidding operates, please contact us, at least the day before, please don't wait until the last minute. Many of the lots contained here are HEAVY and do require some consideration as to how they will be sent to you if mail is your preferred method of despatch. We do welcome bids from all over, but please be aware that postage costs can sometimes be very expensive! We cannot emphasise this enough, although we charge postage on parcels at cost, it can be quite expensive. Check the Australia Post website for full details. www.AusPost.com.au We look forward to your continued & active participation in our forthcoming auction season.

Lots of very fine strikes. (100s) VICTORIA | Barred Numerals | Collections and Miscellaneous Groupings ‘1’ to ‘1977’ duplicated array on 22 hagners with many very fine/superb strikes of commoner strikes. Lots to view! (100s) Large Tin of Barred Numerals mainly off-paper (c.1kg), mainly 1890-1900s plus plenty of earlier (1870s-80s) issues also evident, many multiples seen; predominantly common numbers though contents are likely to surprise with rated cancels sure to be lurking (noted piece with ‘1/W’ x3); stamps are unchecked for wmks or perf variations, etc. Secondly, I strongly disagree with description of ‘all common numbers’. There are over 1,000 rated numerals in the Box - ranging from S to RRR. While I realise you can’t verify that without going through the whole box, would prefer a description that says something like ‘all barred numerals - many multiples seen but contents could surprise’ - a bit clumsy I know but sorting this lot will repay the successful bidder (10,000s) VICTORIA | Datestamps | Collections and Miscellaneous Groupings 1961 Per Favour Covers from a range of places, often with 2 stamps to make up the postage, generally nice strikes. Noted rare Peterson’s, Nalinga and Stanhope South (LRD), no duplication. (12) 1996s Covers all to ‘Guide Dogs of Victoria’ with numerous postmarks, many commems noted. Generally fine. BUYER TO REMOVE - HEAVY LOT (Approx 22kg). (1,000s) Melbourne Numeric-Alpha Time Code array on exchange sheets, generally fine clear strikes, includes a sprinkling of highly rated examples, priced to sell at up to $30; also noted a few TPOs. (250+) WESTERN AUSTRALIA | Collections and Miscellaneous Groupings 1890-1912 1d and 2d accumulation with over half being 2d values, well above-average condition with postmark interest throughout.
