Both covers are plain and unaddressed. PAPUA NEW GUINEA | Postal History 1946 Higatura trimmed creased brown paper envelope inscribed “Official”, unfranked and registered to Sydney, from “A.D.O./TUFI/ 1747 * PAPUA” with contents dated Oct 24, 1946 returning “three enclosed envelopes” explaining that the request to register them could not be complied with “as Tufi has no Official Post Office”. Envelope has bright red “T 1/9” but whether this was collected is not clear due cut down state. Backstamps include an incomplete ‘RELIEF’ cds.
