A- B1 1d Red Die I Plate 4 variety flaw under neck at VII/37 * BW #71(4)h in fresh block of 4 which also includes the BSAP-listed minor varieties at VII/38 * and VII/43-4 **; plus the same major variety on equally fresh different shade single o/c left *. Common shades. (5)

A- B1 1d Red Smooth Paper carmine-pink shade marginal single with ‘JBC’ monogram 3mm below marginal line, late undamaged state, wmk inverted, BW #71U(4)zl, Cat $300+, gum has a few bubbles, A very scarce combination. A B1 1d Rosine Rough Paper perf ‘OS’ in scarce horizontal strip of three Die I-II-II BW #72I(1)fc,fb, Cat $2300 (50% of normal). 2004 Drury certificate (which notes the shade as ‘G69’ - more recent BW says ‘G68’). Reinforced, very fresh. A- B1 1d Red Rough Paper Die II common shade BW #72(1)f, Cat $750; slight gum disturbance and light storage-related bend, just o/c, strong colour. POR in most retail lists now, good value lot. A D1 1d Red Die III strip of 3, BW #75, Cat $120+. A B1 - watermark inverted BW #75a, Cat $150. Just o/c right, lightly struck machine slogan cancel; plus single and horiz pair BW #75 each with 1918 cds. Total cat c$270. (4) B B1 - right marginal horizontal pair right unit with thinned ‘US’ first state with thinned oval and white flaw in ‘U’ [40], BW #75m, Cat $750 and alongside with lesser shaved and notched UL corner. Gum disturbed/sweated (due hinge removals), pencil note reverse selvedge, strong fresh colour. A B2 1½d Red Die I [16L57] on very coarse paper, perf ‘OS’. This paper is not catalogued but the handbook notes “a few copies on unsurfaced coarsely grained paper have also been found in red”. We presumed that this is the same paper and possibly also the same paper as the 1½d green coarse mesh. A B2 1½d Red Die I Printed on Gummed Side perf ‘OS’ & wmk inverted as usual, BW #89c, Cat $500. An upper marginal example (watermark frame clearly visible) with extensive wear of the upper frame and the crown top almost entirely worn away is strongly suggestive of Electro 13. Much better centred than normal. A C1 2d Orange cracked electro (State 1) BW #95(9)f, Cat $500. Quite a deep shade with neat Wagga Wagga cds in Dec 1922. A C1 2d Red Die I pale red shade, BW #96H, Cat $300, perf ‘OS’. A C1 2d Red Die I Wmk Inverted perf ‘OS’ [11R7], BW #96a, Cat $2500 for *, with Ceremuga certificate. A B1 - dry ink block of 4, BW #104c, Cat $430, 2 units mounted. A/B 4d Orange x80 on hagner, BW #110, Cat $800, good range of shades although no lemons. Odd fault, but seriously damaged not counted. A rare opportunity to acquire these stamps in quantity. B A1 4d Lemon-Yellow BW #110C, Cat $750. Sadly a natural paper flaw at base somewhat detracts from an otherwise very fresh well-centred example of a difficult stamp. POR in most lists, good value. A C1 4d Blue unplated irregular white flaw in top of left frame, BW #112. A/A- 4d Blue Cooke Plates used BW-listed varieties assembly appear all Cooke plates min cat $420, light pencil annotations on back (easily removable), includes ‘OS’ and OS/NSW perfins. One is thin FOUR PENCE BW # 112(2)ha, Cat $300, others are 1L56 x2, 1R58, 1R59 x2 (one OS/NSW), 2L7, 2L18 x2 (‘OS’ and ‘OS/NSW’) whose primary catalogue numbers are are BW #112(1)g, m, n, (2)d and f. Several shades including Pale Milky Blue. (13) C C3 - major variety scratch in front of King’s face - State II, cracked electro BW #112(2)ga, Cat $2000. Appears early stage most noticeable beneath ‘AU’ of ‘AUSTRALIA’. Sadly the NE corner repaired so an absolute bargain. A B1 - major variety thin FOUR PENCE - later state (deteriorated) BW #112(2)hb, Cat $900. Appears a very late state per BSAP’s third state - deterioration of the retouch, etc. Off centre low right, very fresh. C B2 - rare unplated white flaw on King’s temple BW #112(U)d, Cat $1,250. Appears quite a pale shade with SW corner restored, bargain. A- B2 4d Blue Harrison Plates variety watermark inverted BW #113a, Cat $1000. Just off centre SE with neat February 1924 cds. A B1 - Inverted Wmk BW #113a. A4d Olive No Imprint pair, pulled corner perf of left unit BW #114za.
