Network Monthly news, views and updates from across Phoenix Creative Therapy at the Wirral Residential Service For over 3 years Phoenix Futures Wirral Residential Service has been working in partnership with the Wirral Community NHS Trust. The dedicated staff from the psychological wellbeing team: Rachel Byron and Phil Caul have worked with the residential to adapt programmes responsive to the needs of the service users, offering support and guidance through involvement in creative workshops and relaxation. They currently deliver Calm & Create, a weekly group offering service users the opportunity to take part and learn about art through the use of different art materials, this is a very popular group with service users as it creates a calming environment where they can express themselves through creativity. Rachel and Phil also deliver a weekly relaxation group teaching the service users new techniques to help with their emotional management. More recently the psychological well being team have introduced a Therapeutic Singing group with the expertise of Carey Marsden; recent research has suggested that singing has a positive impact on peoples health and well being as it enables participants to tap into emotions and expression of feelings. All service users get together each week, learn vocal/singing techniques, listening skills and cooperation.
Recovery through Nature - Service User Satisfaction During March 2013 we carried out a service user survey across all Recovery through Nature groups to find out how satisfied our clients are with this treatment. The results are very positive, with most service users saying that Recovery through Nature is helping with their recovery.
