Cappetta’s photographic style is marked by an unfiltered authenticity. Her use of color is striking, capturing the vibrancy of Glendalis’ world while avoiding any romanticization of the family’s struggles. The images are raw and full of life, showing the laughter, conflicts, and quiet moments of reflection that define family life. Each photograph feels like a window into a private world, yet it’s a world that many will recognize—one filled with the complexities of love, growth, and perseverance.
Through her lens, Cappetta offers viewers a glimpse into the relationships that shape Glendalis’ journey. Her connection with her father, her grandmother, and her girlfriends is rich and multi-layered. Cappetta captures not just the joy of these relationships, but the tensions and transitions that come with growing up. Glendalis transforms before our eyes—from a fierce little girl into a young woman navigating the complexities of adolescence. It’s not a singular coming-of-age story, but rather an ongoing evolution that reflects the fluid, ever-changing nature of family.

Phillip Toledano’s Another America is a groundbreaking exploration of history, technology, and truth. In this latest project, Toledano, known for his deeply conceptual works, reimagines New York City from 1940 to 1950 in a way that merges the real and the imagined, all through the lens of AI-generated imagery. The result is a series of images that feel both eerily familiar and entirely alien, prompting the viewer to question the very nature of reality. By constructing a visual narrative of a past that never existed, Another America offers a commentary on the malleability of history, inviting us to reflect on how technology shapes our understanding of truth.
Toledano has always been a storyteller at heart, and in Another America, he positions himself as both historian and futurist. Known for previous works like “Days With My Father” and “Maybe”, which explore personal identity and speculative futures, he now turns his gaze to the collective experience. New York City, a place rich with both real and imagined histories, becomes the perfect canvas for Toledano’s surreal vision. Through a series of meticulously crafted images, he distorts familiar landmarks and events, creating a sense of dislocation that mirrors our current cultural moment, where truth is increasingly subjective and often elusive.
