With our fifth issue of Waterworks Made, I’m reflecting on my own milestone—the excitement, privilege, and rewards of running Waterworks for the past 30 years! Looking back, I'm immensely proud of the evolution of our company— founded in 1978 by my parents, Barbara and Robert—and am equally excited about where it's going next. When I first started, we had just a handful of employees and a limitless potential that fueled our pursuit of creativity, inspiration and innovation principles that still guide us today.
Our focus on design, and the design community, is our driving force. From day one, we have painstakingly debated every millimeter and every radius, every floor plan and photo shoot.
We go back to the drawing board—quite literally—time and time again, when we feel it’s necessary. We engineer each element to the extreme, embracing new materials and demanding excellence in everything from our manufacturing to our client services.
Our determination to remain consistent in our efforts for three decades—through recession or pandemic, good times and challenging ones has enabled our company to soar. So many milestones stand out: the launch of our best selling proprietary Henry collection in 2010; our creative collaborations with design partners like
Roman and Williams and Gachot Studios; our role in incredible hospitality projects, from iconic five-star urban towers to gorgeous beach resorts and chic boutique hotels; our increasing global expansion, including the opening of our flagship London showroom nearly 10 years ago. A full list would fill this entire issue, and then some.
My biggest source of pride isn’t one tangible element of our story: It’s the dynamic creative energy and strength of our culture that powers Waterworks. We’re a design-driven company with a passion for pushing boundaries, leading by example, willing to take risks, and elevating the most important spaces of the home. This issue of Waterworks Made presents just a few examples, including our Regulator collection, our custom cabinetry offerings, the breadth of our accessories, and our baths in some of the world’s finest coastal resorts. Stay tuned for what’s to come over the course of the year…big things are always on their way.

Regulator pays homage to industrial controls of the early 1900s, a time when meticulous attention was devoted to every component. The collection conveys a robust and captivating elegance through intricate, commanding forms and doesn't confine itself to a single design style. Its rugged beauty and striking forms are equally comfortable in a city loft, a mountain retreat, or a coastal residence.
High altitude meets high design, combining natural tones and textures for a commanding yet refined presence.
