DTI turns over SSF on ice cream stick production project by Lou Tiongco
ILIGAN CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry-Lanao del Norte Provincial Office (DTI-LDN) turned over to Iligan Sorbetes Producers Cooperative (ISPC) one unit Popsicle Maker Machine under its Shared Service Facility (SSF) Project, April 2016.
A skills training on Popsicle Making and how to operate the equipment was also conducted to Ice Cream producers/operators and its members at the ISPC Ice Cream Plant, IBJT Compound, Northbound Terminal, Tambo, Iligan City. Eight selected machine operators and members of the cooperative manning the ice cream operation were
the participants to the training. Participants were so happy because aside from the skills they learned in popsicle making, they also avail the equipment provided by the government through DTI’s SSF project and they can use it anytime they want to produce, accept orders from their individual customers.

2017. As part of Hedcor’s safety compliance, contractors are conducting mandatory drug test to workers, most especially to equipment operators.
Implementation of P4.2B projects in Northern Mindanao hailed CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Implementation of P4.2 billion infrastructure projects in Northern Mindanao is a welcome development as these will help protect Cagayan de Oro city and the constituents from flood and other calamities. Vice mayor Caesar Ian E. Acenas noted reports that 79 projects were implemented including the flood wall in Barangays Carmen, Kauswagan and Balulang in Cagayan de Oro City amounting to P753 million. According to published reports, the projects were approved following the typhoon Sendong tragedy. The Office of Civil Defense in Region 10 (OCD-10) reportedly facilitated the priority projects after conducting the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) with the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC). “We welcome this development
and continue to seek the implementation of other major infrastructure projects that will make Cagayan de Oro a disasterresilient and climate-resilient city,” he said. (CdeOSP)
