Unceasing in this fight, the city has made 78 arrests in various drug raids and buy bust operations. “We have put more police on the streets and more soldiers in our
city to keep the peace. Now, we have renewed hope that we will go even stronger—further strengthen our peace and order campaign, to build on what we have begun,” Mayor Marie

And that goes for all – walay kamag-anak, walang kaibigan, walay pabor-pabor, labi na sa mga opisyales (Knock their houses and urged them to stop their evil deeds. And that goes for all—no relatives, no friends, no bias, especially officials),” she said. Plans on strengthening the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) and anti-illegal drug advocacy as part of the schools’ curriculum are also included in her local administration. 2 suspected NPA members apprehended in Bukidnon SAN FERNANDO, Bukidnon – Two individuals were apprehended on 29 June 2016 in a remote village in Brgy. Nakabuklad, San Fernando town, Bukidnon, by the members of San Fernando Municipal Police Station. The arrested individuals, who are also suspected NPA members coming from Guerilla Front 6, were facing charges on Destructive Arson. The apprehended persons were identified as couple Simon C. Yolaga, 48 years old, and Lolita L. Yolaga, 49 years old, both residents of Sitio Supon, Brgy. Nakabuklad, San Fernando, Bukidnon. The arrest was initiated by virtue of a warrant that was issued in at Malaybalay City’s Regional Trial Court Branch 9. Arrested persons were immediately brought to Bukidnon Police Provincial Office for processing of their charges at RTC Branch 9 in Malaybalay City, and will subsequently be detained at the Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center at the same city. Members of the Guerilla Front 6 of the NPA have been claiming
responsibility over repeated burning of heavy equipment and private properties in the areas of San Fernando over the years. It is believed that these rebels intensify such criminal acts in order to fuel their extortion activities. Allegedly, the arrested individuals were among the group of a certain Reynante Tumbalang alias JIGGER of said NPA criminal organization, with the latter also having a warrant of arrest for committing the same violation. Meantime, Ltc Lennon G Babilonia INF (GSC) PA, commanding officer of the Army’s 8th Infantry Battalion that is based in Bukidnon, has appreciated the efforts of their PNP counterparts and the community for working together to bring the perpetrators to justice. “We want to congratulate our counterparts from the PNP here in the
province of Bukidnon for effectively apprehending these suspected criminals and NPA members. Of course, we would also want to thank our local residents in the nearby community for cooperating with our local authorities so that these persons may be arrested, said Babilonia. He further said you see, the NPA have now become a criminal organization as opposed to what they constantly claim that they are an organization with solid ideologies.
These individuals were not arrested because they are suspected NPA members but because they are violators of the law, they are criminals. They are no different to bandits. It is only right that the people, especially our Lumad community in San Fernando, have forsaken these individuals to the long arms of the law. Let justice be imposed to these persons.” says Babilonia. (8IB/PA)
