CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – As its first official acts, the 18th City Council of Cagayan de Oro during its inaugural session on July 4 adopted Resolution No. 12390-2016, prescribing its Rules of Procedure and Resolution No. 12391-2016, electing its officers. Councilor Zaldy O. Ocon was Q. Nacaya as the majority floor leaderelected as the presiding officer coalition and Councilor Teodulfo E. protempore with Councilor Ian Mark Lao, Jr, as the assistant majority floor
leader. Meanwhile, Councilor Leon D. Gan, Jr. was elected as the minority floor leader with Councilor Nadya Emano-Elipe as the assistant minority floor leader. Legislators also approved Resolution No. 12392-2016, electing the chairman, vice chair and members of its 27 standing committees. A separate resolution was adopted authorizing Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy as the official signatory for any transaction of the City Council with the city’s depository banks. Vice Mayor Uy congratulated all
the members of the 18th City Council for winning the May elections. SERVICE Responding to the parliamentary inquiry of councilor Gan on whether the vice mayor should preside over the session or sit as the city mayor in view of the decision of the Ombudsman on the case filed against Mayor Oscar Moreno, the vice mayor stressed that his intention is to serve in whatever post he assumes. “The bottom line is I want to serve the people no matter what the position is. 4ID joins Muslim brethren in Eidl Fitr celeb CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division, Philippine Army, in a two-day activity, joins Muslim brethren in celebrating Eidl Fitr at the division gym, Patag, Cagayan de Oro City, from 6 to 7 July 2016. Eidtl Fitr marks not only the end of fasting but also the thanksgiving to Allah for the strength and help that He gave to every Muslim throughout the month of practicing self-control. The feast will start from the first sight of the new moon then followed by various activities throughout the celebration. Exactly at 4:30 a.m. of July 6, Muslim community starts the festival with Takbir Mursal and then followed
by the Eidl Fitr prayer and Sermon at Pelaez Complex, Cagayan de Oro City. Ball games and Islamic competitions follow. For the second day of Eidl Fitr, guests are welcomed to join the Cultural and Solidarity Lunch as part of the special celebratory meal of Muslim comrades. AFP, PNP arrest most wanted criminal in LanaoNorte SALVADOR, Lanao del Norte – Troopers from the 15th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army, in coordination with elements from the Philippine National Police (PNP) of Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte conducted an inter-agency law enforcement operation which landed to a successful apprehension of Allan Paalisbo Gonzales, one of the most wanted criminals in Kapatagan.
Police senior inspector Paul Vic P Juntilla, chief of police, PNP Kapatagan, said Gonzales, 40 years old, married, and a resident of Purok 4, Barangay Bel-is, Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte, has a standing warrant of arrest for frustrated murder under criminal case # 1539-07-2015 dated 02 May 2016 issued by Presiding Judge Dennis P Vicoy, Regional Trial Court of 12th Judicial Region Branch 7, Tubod,
Lanao del Norte. The 15th Infantry (Molave Warrior) Battalion and the Kapatagan police force apprehended Gonzales at 4:30 a.m. at his residence in Bel-is, on 28 June, 2016, and was handed over to the Kapatagan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
