CDO celebrates Araw ng Cogon Market

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The City Economic Enterprises Department (CEED) held various activities for the 11th year celebration of the “Araw ng Cogon Market” on July 7-8. The celebration kicked off with a holy mass led by Rev. Fr. Roel B. Bontol, JCL, SSJV, followed by a parade and blessing of the health station. A free dental and medical mission

DOLE, sugar industry meet in Bukidnon MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon – The Department of Labor and Employment conducted its 2nd Quarter District Tripartite Council (DTC) meeting with the different sectorial representatives in the sugarcane industry on 5 July 2016 in Valencia City, Bukidnon.

DOLE-10 Bukidnon Provincial Field Offce Head Raul L. Valmores said that DTC is required to conduct quarterly meetings every year, as mandated by Department Order No. 114-11. “Every quarter the council tackles various agenda and issues concerning the sugarcane industry,” he said. “DTC is composed of the different sectorial representatives of the sugar industry, such as the mill sector representatives, mill worker sector representatives, planter sector representatives, and the field worker sector representatives,” Valmores said. DOLE-10 Regional Director and DTC Chairman Raymundo G. Agravante fully supports the endeavors of the

Council, as mandated under Republic Act No. 6982 signed last 1 May 1991 in strengthening the Sugar Industry and providing the necessary mechanisms in its implementation and other purposes of the program. Valmores further said, “For the quarter, the Council will resolve issues on Unclaimed Cash Bonus Funds as of 2nd Quarter of 2016; Maternity and Death Benefit Monthly Summary Reports as of 2nd Quarter of 2016; D.O. 158 Guidelines on the Implementing Educational Assistance Program for Sugar Workers and their Dependents; and the CBF bank remittances from mills. DOLE 10 reports 47 HOTS in Iligan City Job Fair ILIGAN CITY – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Lanao del Norte recorded some 47 Hired-On-TheSpot (HOTS) during the two-day Job Fair of Iligan City thru its Public Employment Service Office (PESO) on 23-24 June 2016 at the Iligan Bus and Jeepney Terminal, Tambo, Iligan city. DOLE Lanao del Norte Head Remegio D. Cabañog said that 37 applicants were placed by the local companies/ establishments, whom 27 were placed in Powerlinx Manpower

Services and 10 from Rural Transit Mindanao Incorporated. Meanwhile, 10 HOTS were placed by the overseas agencies - nine were placed in YHMD International


Manpower Services Incorporated and one in Pisces International Placement Corporation. Michael James Ramonal, 52 years old, married with one child, and a resident of San Roque, this city, was the first HOTS during the said job fair. He was hired as a bus driver in Rural Transit Mindanao Incorporated. Thank you also to DOLE for one of the organizers of this event.),” he said. Cabañog said that a total of 33 employers participated -- 14 from the local and 19 for overseas employment. Government agencies such as the Philippines Overseas Employment Agency (POEA), Overseas Workers Welfare Agency (OWWA), Philhealth and Pag- ibig Fund supported the Job Fair through their One-Stop-Shop services.
