1000 residents benefit from army, local govt ‘Hatud Serbisyo’ mission IMPASUGONG, Bukidnon – More than 1,000 residents from remote Kalabugao and Hagpa villages, benefited from the two-day “Hatud Serbisyo” mission conducted by the army’s 8th Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division and local government unit (LGU) of Impasugong town, Bukidnon. With the theme “Serbisyuhan ang katawhan ug panalipdan ang yutang natawhan (Serve the people, protect and defend homeland),” the ‘Hatud Serbisyo’ activity was organized by Impasugong LGU led by Mayor Anthony A. Uy, with the army’s full support as part of the unit’s advocacy in upholding peace and development through stakeholders’ engagement. Lt Col Lennon G Babilonia, 8IB commanding officer, said the army’s participation in the mission is part of the soldiers’ role in the 21st century—focusing, among others, in providing basic health services to the people—as imbibed in the Internal Peace and Security Plan Bayanihan, the government’s counterinsurgency program. The ‘Hatud Serbisyo’ activities happened at Kalabugao covered court at 9:00 a.m, 12 August 2016, where services like releasing of pension, circumcision, medical consultation, massage, tooth extraction, and haircut were provided. On day-two, in Hagpa village, similar services were also conducted as Mayor Uy and the town councilors

led the mission. Likewise, other government agencies also shared some information on programs, thrusts, and services of their respective organizations. Impasug-ong town mayor commended the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, LGU, and other concerned agencies for making the two-day “Hatud Serbisyo” program a success. “This activity is the result of the government’s strong desire in making sure that services reach remote communities. Through continuous stakeholder engagement, the convergence program that emerged from consolidation of efforts from line agencies with different functions were all shared with only one goal. That goal is to help the Filipino community build a nation,” the mayor said. (Erwin P. Bugarin, CMO, 8IB, PA/RLRB, PIA10Bukidnon)
