SIQUIJOR, (PIA)--The Siquijor Police Provincial Office (SPPO) strengthens police community relations with the implementation of activities that increase their engagement with the public as they attempt to get to the core of its drug clearing operations. “ One milestone that benchmarks the consolidated efforts of the SPPO is the barangay drug clearing operations in 134 barangays,” says SPPO Deputy Provincial Director for Administration PSupt. Marcial L. Yanguas in his Welcome Message at the SPPO Police Community Relations Month celebration. He said police office is also working closely with other agencies particularly with the Department of Health (DOH) in its implementation of the Barangay Wellness Recovery/ Rehabilitation Program to help surrenderees recover from drug addiction. NCCA Calls for Project Proposals for 2019 Competitive Grants Programs (PIA) --The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is now accepting applications for Project Proposals for the year 2019. Chairman and National Artist Virgilio S. Almario and Director Rico S. Pableo Jr., and Deputy Executive Director Marichu G. Tellano, of the NCCA are calling for submissions of various arts and culture projects that promote their vision: Filipino culture as the wellspring of national and global well-being. DOST – FNRI conducts ENNS in Siquijor by Engr. Joelline Ann Ates
SIQUIJOR, July 18 (PIA)—The Department of Science and Technology– Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST– FNRI) through the Provincial Science and Technology Center (PSTC) here, is conducting an Expanded National Nutritional Survey (ENNS) survey in the whole province of Siquijor from June 17 – August 18, 2018. A team of researchers from the DOST-FNRI, in coordination with the DOST Siquijor led by Provincial Science and Technology Director Engr. Mario E. de la Peña undertakes the survey. Respondents from nine barangays in Enrique Villanueva, seven barangays in Larena, five barangays in Lazi, nine barangays in Maria, 10 barangays in San Juan and 17 barangays in Siquijor participate in the survey on different
schedules within the time frame from June to August 2018. Prior to the commencement of the survey, a pre-survey coordination meeting was done and an overview of the ENNS was presented at the Provincial Health

The survey is part of the ENNS three-year period of data collection of the National Nutrition Survey (NNS) which is a comprehensive survey conducted every five years since 1978 and the latest of which is in 2013. “Interested individuals or parties have to submit their ideas and proposals this year, since the granted project will be implemented immediately next year,” Salazar said. According to Salazar, most of the project applications submitted to NCCA are from Luzon. However, project applications coming from Central Visayas, specifically from Cebu City is the highest within the Visayas region. In fact, this year, the NCCA granted the enhancement of reading centers in 5 barangays of Bohol and in Barangay Tisa of Cebu. The NCCA is accepting project proposals that cater to the funding for cultural services, publication of researches promoting Filipino culture and art, workshop and training grants, capability trainings and grants for establishment and enhancement of cultural institutions. Letters of intent and proposals are accepted only until July 31, 2018, and must be submitted to the Planning, Policy Formulation and Programming Division (PPFPD). Proposals may also be submitted via email at arts@ncca.gov.ph, heritage@ncca.gov.ph, dissemination@ncca.gov.ph and traditional_arts@ ncca.gov.ph. SSS miawhag sa mga may wala na kabayri nga huwam: apply sa LRP
(PIA)—Giawhag sa Social Security System (SSS) kadtong mga sakop nga may mga huwam nga wala na kabayri nga dili palabyon ang kahigayunan nga malimpyo og balik ang nindot nga record sa SSS. Pinaagi sa SSS Loan Restructuring Program (LRP), mahimo na nga papason sa SSS ang penalidad nga natangag sa panahon nga ang utang wala kabayri, pahayag sa SSS. Pinaagi sa SSS LRP, malimpyo na ang mga wala kabayri nga huwam gikan sa principal ngadto na sa interes, ug tangtangon na ang natigum nga mga multa sa wala pagbayad niini, segun pa sa mga opisyal sa SSS.
