47th Araw ng Lalawigan ng Siquijor opens

SIQUIJOR PROVINCE, September 6 (PIA)—It’s all systems go for the 47th Araw ng Lalawigan ng Siquijor with the yesterday’s opening of the celebration and its Sportsfest September 5 at the Dugokanan sa Kapitolyo (Convergence Hall), Provincial

Capitol, Siquijor, Siquijor. The annual celebration started with a parade participated in by officials and employees of the national and local government as well as private organizations here. Civil Service Commission

(CSC) also led the renewal of vows and commitment of government officials and employees in observance of the Philippine Civil Service Month in September. This was through CSC-Siquijor Field Office with Director Alice Mae S. Parcon. The six candidates for Miss Siquijor Tourism, representing the towns of Siquijor province were also presented. Other lined up activities for the whole celebration includes Handgun Fun Shooting Competition dubbed Governor’s Cup on September 7 to 9 at the Cangadieng Firing Range in Larena, Siquijor. The provincial government in cooperation with the Siquijor Police Provincial Office, coordinated the activity. For September 9, the Dragon Boat Race Competition dubbed Bugsay Alang

CSC-7 sets activities for Philippine Civil Service Anniversary

(PIA)--The Civil Service Commission (CSC) here has set up several activities in preparation for the celebration of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary. CSC-7 Regional Director Editha Luzano said this will be a month-long celebration nationwide. Themed “Lingkod Bayani: Makadiyos, Makatao, Makabayan,” this year’s celebration is meant to remind public servants the important role of exemplifying love of God and country, building a Citizen-centric government, and promoting malasakit in the public service to the Filipino people. “We encourage and call all civil servants to actively participate the month-long activities and we also request all civil servants

This will be held at the beach front of MDB Homes, beside Toris Paradise in Dumanhog, Siquijor, Siquijor. AT 2:00 PM on September 13, the Agri-Tourism and Trade Fair opens at the Dugokanan sa Kapitolyo and Salo-Salo and Hudyaka sa Kapitolyo at 7:00 pm at the Provincial Capitol Grounds. By September 14, the Cultural Exchange and Show is set at 8:00 am and 9:00 pm also at the Dugokanan sa Kapitolyo. A symposium on the Rule of Law opens at 1:00 pm at the SP Session Hall; and at 10:00 pm, the most awaited Callalily goes live in Concert at the Siquijor Oval. There will also be a Marching Band Competition on September 15 at 1:00 pm at the Siquijor Oval, Motocross, 9:00 at Canal, Siquijor, and Pa-Sing-Garbo, 7:00 pm also at the Dugokanan sa Kapitolyo. On September 16, a Holy Thanksgiving Mass is set at 8:00 am which also ushers in Halad sa Katawhan at 9:00 am and Miss Siquijor Island at 8:00 pm at the Dugokanan sa Kapitolyo. On September 1, a Citation and One Time Financial Assistance worth Php100,000.00 will be given to the parents of the late PO2 Rey Anthony V. Nazareno. The late Nazareno, who died in an encounter with Abu Sayyaf terrorists in Bohol last year, is also the Pamanang Lingkod Bayani Awardee. Kick off activity will be on September 1, with the 7th CSC RO VII Fun Run in partnership with Mega Cebu which start at UP Cebu at 5:00 a.m. Registration fee for the Fun Run is at P350 for 4k category and P400 for 7k category. Proceeds of the mentioned activity will go to the Pundong Pamana Lingkod Bayani Program which honors public servants who died in the line of duty, with the other families receiving a Plaque of Recognition, Scholarship Grants to the Awardees immediate family members and one-time financial assistance of P100,000.00. On Sept. 3 a Unified Flag Raising will be held at Ecotech Grounds in Lahug Cebu City with government agencies in the government center and neighboring areas. September 13 marks the Regional Awarding Rites for Presidential Lingkod Bayan; CSC Pag-asa Awardee; and Dangal ng Bayan. Bugsay Alang sa Kalinaw ipaghigayon sa September 9 atol sa Araw ng Lalawigan ng Siquijor SIQUIJOR, August 29 (PIA)— Atangi, salmot ug tan-aw si gikahinaman’g kalihokan alang sa selebrasyon sa Araw ng Lalawigan ng Siquijor, ang “Bugsay alang sa Kalinaw.” Kini sumala sa panawagan sa Philippine Information Agency (PIA), kauban sa Bugsay Committee nga gipasiugdahan sa lokal nga kagamhanan sa Siquijor, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), ug Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) ug sa uban pang mga ahensya, nga maoy naningamot aron mahapsay ug magmalamposon ang tibuok kalihokan. Sumala pa, “It’s not everyday that you get to paddle and race in paradise (dili kanunay nga aduna kay higayon makabugsay sa paraiso).” Kini ang pasigarbo sa tigpasiugda sa maong bugno samtang ilang giawhag ang mga lumulupyo ug mga bisita sa pagsalmot, tan-aw ug paglingaw-lingaw sa Dragon Boat Festival 2018. Atong lingawon ang mga turista sa atong limpyo ug patsada nga tubig samtang kita usab mokita niini,” sumala pa ni Gonzalez. Ang mahimong champion sa maong bugno modawat ug Php8,000, first runner-up, Php5,000 ug second runner-up, Php3,000. Ang registration fee alang sa mga mosalmot nga paddlers mokantidad sa Php400 lakip na niini ang event singlet (saliko), welcome dinner ug school billeting.
