DAR rolls out ‘PaSsOver’ for Siquijor ARCs

SIQUIJOR (PIA) -- The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Siquijor is giving Farm Productivity Assistance (FPA) to the identified Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) in the province as part of its “PaSsOver: ARBold Move to Heal as One Deliverance” of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Costing P1,118,930, the Farm Productivity Assistance is one of the four components of the ARBold Project under DARCO Memorandum Circular No. 12, Series

of 2020. DAR-Siquijor, through Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Grace Fua, Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Lalaine Toralde, and Senior Agrarian Reform Program Officer Engr. Michelle J. Avanzado, identified 519 ARBs in the whole ARC Cluster of Siquijor province. The identified ARBs will receive farm implements such as pick mattock, garden trowell, and pail. They will also receive fertilizers and a

variety of seeds. DAR Designate Information Officer Renee Sitchon said the office has distributed FPA to 20 ARBs in Larena on Oct. 20 and to 14 ARBs from Timbaon ARC on Oct. 21 through the assigned Development Facilitators (DFs). On Oct. 23, another set of farm inputs were distributed to the 2019 Farm Business School graduates of Paglaum Rural Improvement Club (RIC), Maria Corn Cluster Producers Multipurpose Cooperative (MCCPMPC), and MagPro. Assessment of the farm produce of the FBS graduates was also done led by FBS coordinator, Engr. Michelle J. Avanzado. Another FPA were distributed to the first batch of ARBs in Larena ARC on Oct. 24 and on Oct. 27 to the 78 ARBs in barangays Kimba of Lazi and Nabutay, Cabal-asan, Lico-an, Bogo, Candaping, Logucan, Saging and Minalulan of Maria, Siquijor. “The PASSOver: ARBold Move ARBold Move” project is the agency’s response to the pandemic in compliance to Republic Act 11469 or the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. The four main components include Support to ARBOs as frontlines in the Food Supply Chain during pandemic; Farm Productivity Assistance to ARBs that includes seedlings and farm inputs; Livelihood Support for Women during the pandemic; and Package of Supplemental Food and personal hygiene products.
