It is composed of Assisi High School, Siquijor, Siquijor; Saint John High School, San Juan, Siquijor; Saint Isidore the Farmer Catholic School, Lazi, Siquijor; Ave Maria Academy, Maria, Siquijor, and; Saint Vincent Academy, Larena, Siquijor. “In a certain way, we help the five schools of SACS in increasing their library holdings for the benefit of their faculty, staff, students, and those residents living nearby who are interested in upgrading their interest in science and technology, and for encouraging meaningful activities within their campuses in consonance with their mandate of promoting wholistic Catholic formation,” said de la Peńa. Glende Paquera and Jayfhel Pagente, principals of Assisi High School and Ave Maria Academy, shared the same sentiment: “This STARBOOKS of DOST is an excellent idea. With our schools offering STEM strand in Senior High curriculum, STARBOOKS would facilitate the research undertakings of our students. More so, this will pave way in creating a culture of pursuing and upgrading knowledge in science and technology among students and teachers as well.”
The Province of Siquijor culminated the month-long celebration of Farmers and Fisherfolks Month with a display of bountiful harvest from farmers and fisherfolks. With more than 300 attendees, employees from the agriculture sector, farmers, and fisherfolks gather at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist grounds to witness and participate the activity that started with a motorcade. The Starlink provides a lowEarth orbit satellite system designed to deliver broadband internet connectivity with speeds between 100 to 200 Megabits per second (Mbps) especially in Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged areas (GIDA) sites where laying fiber cables are difficult. “The DICT will continue to find ways to make the accreditation process faster, more convenient, and will provide policy support to companies like Starlink,” Caintic said.
