Karina Epperlein understands T’ai Chi as the “mother of all,” a musical sphere that embraces the melodies of yin and yang, the pulse of full and empty, the breath of in and out . In the early 80’s, Karina was trained by Martin Inn from the Inner Research Institute to become a teacher of the Short Form developed by Cheng Man Ch’ing . In 1986, she opened her own school The Blue House in San Francisco, and in 1990, shifted her classes to the East Bay . In the nineties, Karina taught her Chi Flow class at the Claremont Spa and also taught creative expression at drug rehab facilities and a federal women’s prison for more than six years . “Over the decades I have listened carefully to my students so I could grow with the changing times, but I always feel drawn and fiercely attached to the simple and vigorous principles of T’ai Chi .” See page 44 for Karina’s The Principals of T’ai Chi, Breath & Flow class .
