Regional Medical Center, Danville, VA. Born August 4, 1926 in Pittsylvania County, he was the son of the late Ida Collins and Dave Daniel. He was married to the late Josephine Jones Daniel. Mr. Daniel was a resident of Pittsylvania County, Virginia his entire life. Ralph was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. His career began at an early age serving his country in the Navy. While still enlisted, he met his wife of 64 years while under her nursing care during surgery. After completing his service he focused on his love of cars and began to sell for Parson’s Ford in Chatham, Virginia. After a successful sales career, he was able to purchase the Chatham Ford dealership and changed the name to Daniel Ford. He also owned two car washes in Chatham and enjoyed serving the current Norfolk Southern Railway system as a subcontractor, responsible for the clearing of many miles of track to promote fire safety. Over the years he acquired rental properties and enjoyed working with his tenants. Ralph enjoyed college basketball and major league baseball, but truly loved NASCAR racing, always pulling for the best Ford driver. Ralph also enjoyed golfing with his pals at Cedars Country Ta’shawn lavon Club for many years.
