Domaine de Baronarques ❖ Located in South of France, in the Languedoc region ❖ 350 km South from Bordeaux ❖ 100 kms from the Mediterranean sea and 400 kms from the Atlantic ocean
History ❖ A very old estate dating back to the 17th century. ❖ 1998 : acquisition by Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and her two sons, Julien de Beaumarchais de Rothschild and Philippe Sereys de Rothschild. ❖ 2003: first vintage of the premium red wine in AOC Limoux Rouge.
The property ❖ A rightful place alongside the Rothschild family’s other renowned estates, including the illustrious Château Mouton Rothschild ❖ Our goal is to produce a Grand Cru from South of France ❖ The Rothschild working methods adapted to suit the Domaine
The vineyard ❖ 110 hectares (272 acres) in a single sweep, of which 43 hectares (106 acres) are planted with vines. ❖ An exceptional situation with vines planted at an altitude of 250 to 350 metres, tempering the summer heat. ❖ An atlantic and mediterranean micro-climate, guaranteeing optimum sunshine and balanced rainfall. ❖ A high density plantation, unique in Languedoc. ❖ The Rothschild working methods adapted to suit the Domaine’s variety of soils, micro-climates and grape varieties.
