Su litoral se extiende a lo largo de más de 4 Km., en los que encontramos ambientes diferentes. Hay playas extensas de finas arenas blancas en contraste con pequeñas calas rocosas, que se adentran en el mar y conforman fondos marinos llenos de vida. Además su transparencia y visibilidad aseguran gratas experiencias a los amantes del snorkel, ya que las ricas praderas de posidonia y variadas formaciones de algas aportan una gran cantidad de oxigeno y generan un fondo acogedor para los habitantes vertebrados e invertebrados del mar.
The coastline of Pilar de la Horadada is more than 4 kilometres long with very differing scenery. There are long white sandy beaches contrasting with small rocky coves, that enter the sea and create seabeds filled with life. Besides, the transparency and visibility of the waters ensure pleasant experiences for snorkelling enthusiasts, with rich Posidonia seagrass meadows and varied seaweed formations which provide with lots of oxygen and create a welcoming seabed for the sea's vertebrate and invertebrate inhabitants.

CARACTERÍSTICAS DE LA RUTA PROFUNDIDAD MÁXIMA: 3 metros. DURACIÓN APROXIMADA: 1 hora. ORIENTACIÓN: Sureste. BIOTOPO: Roca, arena y posidonia. FAUNA: Es posible localizar Blénidos de diferentes colores, Salmonetes, Bancos de Salpas, Mojarras, Serranos, Pulpos, Escorpénidos, Sargos, Mújoles, Lubinas, Doradas y crustáceos de diferentes especies. ACCESO: Playa Mil Palmeras. EQUIPO BÁSICO: Boya de señalización, gafas, tubo y aletas. Utilizar calzado para roca en la visita a las Canteras Romanas. RECOMENDACIONES: Bucear siempre acompañado, respetar las banderas que nos aconsejan la conveniencia del baño o la desaconsejan según el estado del mar. No exceder los límites del balizamiento de la zona de baño, para evitar accidentes con embarcaciones y motos de agua. VIENTOS: Según la época, predominan el viento Levante o Lebeche.

INDIGENOUS FAUNA: Blennioids of different colours, red mullets, dreamfish shoals, common two-banded seabreams, combres, octopuses, scorpionfish, porgies, flathead grey mullets, sea basses, sea breams and different species of crustaceans. ACCESS: Mil Palmeras beach. BASIC EQUIPMENT: Signaling buoy, mask, tube and flippers. Use suitable footwear for rocks on the visit to the Roman Quarries. RECOMMENDATIONS: Dive accompanied at all times, respect the flags for water conditions. Do not surpass the limits signaled for swimming to avoid accidents with boats or jet skis. WINDS: Depending on the time of year, mostly Easterly winds (Levante) or southwest (Lebeche).

Fondo mixto de roca y arena, salpicado de arenales y pequeños mechones de Posidonia y Caulerpa. En la roca emergida encontramos unas Canteras Romanas documentadas, de donde se obtuvo roca arenisca para construcción desde los siglos II-I a.c., y que se explotaron hasta el XVI para la construcción de la Torre de la Horadada.
Mixed bottom of sand and rock, interspersed with sandy areas and areas of Posidonia and Caulerpa seagrass. On the emerged rock area we can find certified Roman Quarries, where sandstone was extracted from 2nd-1st Centuries BC to be used in construction. They were in use until 16th century AD to build the Torre de la Horadada watch tower.
Comenzamos a bucear desde la playa de Mil Palmeras, en su extremo sur, dejando la pared rocosa de la orilla del mar a nuestra derecha, siguiendo rumbo sur. Bordeamos el perfil costero, permitiéndonos distanciarnos del mismo para admirar el variado fondo, de roca, pradera, arena y secos formados por los antiguos rizomas de la Posidonia oceánica. Seguimos hasta la cala situada al sur, al final de la cual hallamos una pequeña punta de piedras, en donde iniciamos el regreso al punto de partida, dejando la costa a nuestra izquierda, a rumbo norte.
We start diving from the beach of Mil Palmeras, on its southern part leaving the rock wall to our right and heading south. We follow along the coast, leaving some distance with it in order to admire the varied seabed of rock, seagrass, sand and areas with dead Posidonia seagrass. We continue to the cove located south, where there is a small rocky outcrop at the end and we begin the return to the starting point, leaving the coastline to our left on our way north.

FAUNA: Es posible localizar Blénidos de diferentes colores, Salmonetes, Bancos de Salpas, Mojarras, Serranos, Pulpos, Escorpénidos, Sargos, juveniles de Falso Abadejo y Mero, Mújoles, Lubinas, Doradas y crustáceos de diferentes especies, así como pequeños lenguados en las arenas exteriores al arrecife. ACCESO: Playa Jesuitas o Cala Redonda. EQUIPO BÁSICO: Boya de señalización, gafas, tubo y aletas. RECOMENDACIONES: Bucear siempre acompañado, respetar las banderas que nos aconsejan la conveniencia del baño o la desaconsejan según el estado del mar. No exceder los límites del balizamiento de la zona de baño, para evitar accidentes con embarcaciones y motos de agua. VIENTOS: Según la época, predominan el viento Levante o Lebeche.

Fondo rocoso, salpicado de pequeñas praderas de Posidonia con un arrecife de rocas que, en algunos casos sobresalen a la superficie, y pequeños arenales en los senos que forma la losa de piedra.
Rocky bottom interspersed with small areas of Posidonia seagrass and a rock reef that occasionally comes up to the surface and small sandy areas in the areas between the rock slab.
Comenzamos la ruta alcanzando la punta de piedra que separa la playa Jesuítas de la Cala Redonda, y nos dirigimos al arrecife paralelo a la costa. Buceamos dejando la cresta de roca a nuestra izquierda, hasta llegar al extremo sur de la misma. Le damos la vuelta y disfrutamos de las increíbles formaciones rocosas formadas por la erosión, y de los bancos de salpas y mojarras que pululan por sus alrededores. Seguimos con el perfil de la roca a la izquierda, hasta llegar a su extremo norte al que daremos la vuelta, buceando ahora por el interior del arrecife. Observamos una pared que ofrece extraordinarios contraluces, con fondos de arena y roca, y que alberga una comunidad de juveniles de diferentes especies de peces que nos permiten observarlos sin miedo alguno, y a refugio del oleaje. Llegamos al punto de partida, en que el fondo vuelve a subir casi a superficie.
We start the route by reaching the rock outcrop separating the beach of Jesuitas and Cala Redonda, heading towards the reef parallel to the coastline. We dive leaving the rock crest to our left until we reach its southern area. We go around and enjoy the amazing rock formations made by erosion and the shoals of dreamfish that usually swim around the area. We continue with the rock edge to our left until we reach its north where we will turn around, diving this time on the inner side of the reef. We will observe a wall offering incredible backlighting, with sandy and rocky bottoms hosting a variety of young fish from different species we are able to observe unafraid, sheltered from the swell. We return to our starting point, where the seabed almost comes up to the surface again.

FAUNA: Es posible localizar Blénidos de diferentes colores, Salmonetes, Bancos de Salpas, Mojarras, Serranos, Pulpos, Sepias, Escorpénidos, Sargos, Mújoles y crustáceos de diferentes especies así como pequeños Meros y Lubinas. En primavera es posible observar paso de Lecha y Palometón. ACCESO: Playa del Conde. EQUIPO BÁSICO: Boya de señalización, gafas, tubo y aletas. RECOMENDACIONES: Bucear siempre acompañado, respetar las banderas que nos aconsejan la conveniencia del baño o la desaconsejan según el estado del mar. No exceder los límites del balizamiento de la zona de baño, para evitar accidentes con embarcaciones y motos de agua. VIENTOS: Según la época, predominan el viento Levante o Lebeche.

In Spring it is possible to see the passing of roes and butterfish. ACCESS: El Conde beach. BASIC EQUIPMENT: Signaling buoy, mask, tube and flippers. RECOMMENDATIONS: Dive accompanied at all times, respect the flags for water conditions. Do not surpass the limits signaled for swimming to avoid accidents with boats or jet skis. WINDS: Depending on the time of year, mostly Easterly winds (Levante) or southwest (Lebeche).
DESCRIPCIÓN DE LA RUTA Fondo rocoso, que alterna las lajas de piedra blanca con las cuevas y túneles, con mechones dispersos de Posidonia y Caulerpa. También podremos observar pequeños senos de arena en donde podremos encontrar alguna sepia. Iniciamos el recorrido en la playa del Conde, dejando el perfil rocoso a nuestra derecha, hasta llegar al final de la cresta rocosa. Seguimos buceando con la roca a la derecha, para regresar a la playa.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ROUTE Rocky seabed, alternating slabs of white stone with caves and tunnels, interspersed with areas of Posidonia and Caulerpa seagrass. We will also be able to see small sandy areas with some occasional cuttlefish. We begin our route at El Conde beach, leaving the rocky reef to our right till we reach the end of the rocky crest. We continue diving with the rocks to our right and return to the beach.

Iniciamos el paseo en el extremo sur de la playa de Higuericas, dejando el arrecife a nuestra izquierda, tomando rumbo sur, hasta llegar al extremo de la cresta, ya frente a las primeras casas del pueblo de El Mojón. Seguimos dejando el perfil rocoso a la izquierda, tomando rumbo norte hasta volver al punto de partida. Si lo deseamos, podemos alejarnos unos metros del arrecife para admirar el bello y variado fondo marino de la zona.
We start diving on the southern area of the Higuericas beach, leaving the reef on our left and we head south up to the end of the crest, opposite the first houses of El Mojón. We continue leaving the rocky part to our left and head north to the starting point. If we wish, we can leave the reef for a few metres to admire the area’s beautiful and varied seabed.
