Pannawonica celebrates 40 years Festivities swept through Pannawonica in July as the town celebrated its 40th anniversary with a range of children’s activities and entertainment. The whole community joined in on July 14 to enjoy children’s entertainers, a petting zoo and carnival rides as well as a historical presentation and helicopter trips. Renowned ‘80s rock band, the Hoodoo Gurus, brought the celebrations to a spectacular close playing a host of their greatest hits for the adoring crowd. Over 3000 residents (including over 1000 children) both past and present united to reflect on the growth and progress of the town since its inception 40 years ago. Rio Tinto acting general manager Mine Operations Robe Valley Bob Hirte, said the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. “It was fantastic to see so many

This community spirit has put us in good stead throughout the years and leaves us well positioned to continue to grow and develop as a vibrant and resilient community.” Shire of Ashburton library officer Alison West said the 40th anniversary celebrations were well organised with a range of activities and entertainment on offer. “The event catered for all ages, with children’s entertainers, helicopter rides and of course the highly anticipated performance by the Hoodoo Gurus,” Ms West said. Rio Tinto was a proud sponsor of the Pannawonica 40th anniversary event.

skull and a kick boxer and demonstrated how he would go about drawing the skull and encouraged participants to get stuck into drawing it themselves in their own style. He energetically encouraged participants to freely draw outside the lines, use rapid pen movements and avoid focusing on perfectly reproducing the black and white photograph, but rather to have the aim of making the work include a quirky element or something out of the norm that makes it stand out. All enjoyed the workshop and the participants are considering meeting on a regular basis to start a drawing group. Ride to prevent suicide By Courtney Bertling James Quinton is currently cycling from Perth to Darwin to help prevent suicide and stopped in at McLaren’s Raw Hire for the fundraising barbeque on Monday, July 30. James is cycling more than 4000km solo, from Darwin to Perth to raise awareness of suicide prevention and mental wellbeing, riding up to eight hours a day, for seven weeks. “Every year I like to set myself a big adventure, a couple of years ago I rode from Perth to Melbourne, last year I rode for nine weeks around the UK, and previously I had done a lot of bush walking in Tasmania and the southwest of Western Australia,” he said. “Then I met a 71-year-old man a couple of years ago, who was on the last day of his trip from Darwin to Perth and he gave me the idea. “I was planning it with my sister, who is involved with Lifeline and we decided that I would help raise money for the organisation and it kind of evolved from there.” Apart from riding along the Gibb River Road, James said the most difficult part of the trip was talking about suicide and depression. “Talking about suicide and depression goes to the core of your emotions,” he said. “I lost my brother to suicide about five years ago, so I have been able to talk to a lot of people who are affected by it. “At 80 Mile Beach, I was talking to a man, whose wife had taken her life two years prior.” While the ride is inspirational and positive, James said that the message is to get people talking more about mental health. “I believe that people don’t talk enough about it and they are not open about it,” he said.

Experience mediumship at its best Hot off the screen from the Channel Seven series The One, in a live awe inspiring performance, Anthony Grzelka will entertain and enlighten, while at the same time having audiences questioning what they think about heaven and the afterlife. Anthony will answer questions about spirituality; give messages from loved ones passed and help with real life decisions. Quite possibly in the process, changing people’s lives and making believers out of die hard sceptics. The moment Anthony opens the doors between this world and the next, anything can happen. Without fail the dearly departed will come through, each with a message of love or comfort for a loved-one in the audience.
• James Quinton stopped through Karratha on Monday, July 30 “Part of coming up here to work, you get your safety boots and clothes and you get told what to do if there is a fire or if someone has a cut, but you don’t get told what to do when you want to take your own life. “I think it should be part of the workplace procedure.” McLaren’s Raw Hire branch manager Eliza Carbines, said that the business is always looking at getting the community more involved. “And why not help prevent suicide and raise awareness of mental health,” she said. “A lot of people suffer from depression and it needs to be recognised more.” For more information on how you can make a donation, visit www.everydayhero.com.au/james_ quinton, with all proceeds going to Lifeline WA. To follow James’ travels, search ‘Ride to Prevent Suicide’ on Facebook.
Pets too, are not shy in coming forward. They will often bound in, usually straight through the middle of a reading, wagging a tail or purring with love. The experience that unfolds is often deeply compelling, occasionally chilling, sometimes humorous but almost always heart warming; with the boys down to earth, honest and compassionate approaches, it will be impossible for those in the audience not to be moved. And within each individual’s message of love rests a solution for everyone. Revelations given and predictions made throughout the night will take audiences on a spellbinding journey both emotionally

Olympics. It’s that strange and wonderful time of decade when we sit down and decide it’s important to care about men’s kayaking. Women’s archery. Greco Roman mud wrestling and sandy beach-esque shenanigans. Oh, sorry. That’s Home and Away. Wrong channel. And so here is my ode to Olympics past, present and tuned (by the way, did I mention Hedland has digital?)
Advance my pay cheque, yeah.
Australians all let us rejoice, for I have annual leave, to sit inside my lou-ounge room with my widescreen tv. It’s really quite humungous and I just sit and stare, its trim so black and shiny and mounted way up there. Contented now I’ll sit for hours upon my comfy chair.
Community Update
I bought my television last week one afternoon. I think I had permission, did not foresee my doom. Besotted from the very start, with glee unpacked it there, deciding to surprise my love, this awesome gift to share. So how confused was I when I just got the wildest glare.

Performance arts educate young people Got News? In July 2012, David Williams, Ariana Paganetti, Marri Wright and Carla Nirella travelled to the Pilbara to deliver the NiteStar Program. NiteStar uses a theatre-based model incorporating drama, music and peer education to help guide pre-adolescents, adolescents and young adults as they confront the many challenges of growing up. Productions are all original, created by members of the company. They are culturally appropriate and age-specific, and are designed to diffuse myths on topics such as pregnancy, substance abuse and relationship violence prevention, as well as to help youth make informed decisions and provide options for changing attitudes and prejudices, and create opportunities for behavioural change. NiteStar uses the performing arts and peer education to help young people make informed decisions, providing options for changing attitudes and prejudices, and creating opportunities for promoting healthy behaviours. During their time in the Pilbara, the NiteStar team worked with youth from Karratha, Roebourne, Wickham, Onslow and Pannawonica with participants ranging from six to16 years-of-age.
As a contributer-based newspaper, we accept articles from the public. Were you there? Then send your articles & high resolution photos to news@pilbaraecho.com.au
Safety Skills • Some of the local kids who were given the chance to get involved with NiteStar The program started in the first week of the school holidays, and the workshops ran in Roebourne and Wickham on Tuesday and Wednesday, and finished up with a performance for the parents on Friday afternoon. Theatre exercises and discussions on topics including the positives and negatives of living in an isolated town were discussed, as well as bullying in peer groups and how that manifests. Vignettes relating to the participants’ culture were created which improved confidence and individual comfort levels. The NiteStar team commented on
how inspiring it was to see the youth take charge and ownership of casting, writing and directing the piece, and the audience commended how honest and raw their piece appeared. The team travelled to Onslow for the second week of the holidays where the first workshop was run. Due to the extensive range in ages, the groups were split into two so there could be a focus on issues specific to age groups. It was then on to Pannawonica for the Thursday and Friday to work with participants who were bursting with energy, enthusiasm and natural talent.

Over the last few weeks, all I have heard from people around the community is ‘you have to meet Paul Bray!’ “Who is Paul Bray? I would ask. Well, he is the new Pilbara producer for ABC Open, an initiative which invites regional communities to produce and publish photos, stories, videos, and sound through the ABC. Paul moved to Karratha seven weeks ago to do just that by holding free workshops for the community. With a very impressive portfolio, from working with Xbox, an internship with the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC and working for Australia’s biggest performing arts centre, Paul is sure to be a very valuable asset to the Pilbara. “The reason I love the ABC Open job so much, and the reason I was prepared to move across the country and say goodbye to everyone I knew for a while, is that it incorporates all of the things that I am interested in, he said. “From video, photography and sound recording to multimedia storytelling and it also incorporates working with a huge variety of people. “Plus, the Pilbara is going through so much change at the moment and a lot of people from around the world are moving to the region. “It also has a lot of Aboriginal history, there are the national parks, plus I’ve travelled extensively around Australia, but I have never been to the Pilbara. “So it’s about time I come and explore it. Whether someone is shy, doesn’t know how to use the technology, or wants to learn new skills, Paul is the person to speak to.
“I can help people get over those hurdles with ABC Open, he said. “The workshops are open for all ages, and I am as keen to work with primary school kids, as much as I am to work with older people. “ABC Open is the big, new, community focused part of the ABC and as part of this I run workshops and teach people photography, video and storytelling skills so they can get their own stories onto the ABC. “And it’s not just news or journalism, the stories are more personal and creative; it’s about people’s real lives, so more like documentary. “We have Flickr groups, a dedicated ABC Open website, Vimeo channels and slots on ABC News 24, ABC Radio and iView making this project a very powerful way to share contributors work with a large and diverse audience both across Australia and Internationally. With the help of these workshops, people can then use these skills to enter projects that ABC Open hold, which can be found on open.abc.net.au. This month, the three projects include: Day in the Life: where people capture a typical day in their life, or the life of someone they know, in a short video. Snapped: Faceless Portrait, Take a photo that captures the essence of a person without showing their face. 100%: where people send in their short videos about people who are 100% sports mad. For more information about the free workshops ranging from photography, film and sound, writing and much more, contact Paul Bray on abcopen.pilbara. wa@abc.net.au

WHAT’S COMING UP AT THE WALKINGTON AMPHITHEATRE
20x20x20 expo open To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Cossack Art Award, locals were invited to enter an artwork, object or artifact which they feel celebrates the Pilbara’s past, present or future for the 20x20x20 exhibition. Twenty of the entries were then selected to be exhibited at the Karratha Visitor’s Centre for 20 days, which opened on Wednesday, August 1. The entries, judged by locals John Lally, Stuart Otto and Leonie Palmer were selected based on uniqueness, artistic merit and ‘Pilbaraness’. During the opening on Wednesday night, more than 50 people attended to view the entries and to see who the winner would be. Judge and councilor, John Lally, said that is was a very hard decision to select only 20 entries. “It is exhibitions and events like these that create communities,” Cr Lally said. “This is such a wonderful insight into the sometimes hidden talent in our region and, as both a Councillor and a community member, I am so pleased to see that talent on show.” Judge Stuart Otto said that there is so
much that represents the Pilbara, from paintings to photographs and much more. “The decision was unanimous and we are really pleased with our choice. Leonie’s painting captures the Pilbara landscape wonderfully,” he said. Leonie Cannon, who won $500, said that her inspiration is the ancient Pilbara landscapes. “Every day for the last few years, I have travelled to and from Roebourne as I work at the Roebourne District High School as an art teacher,” she said. “I look at the hills and the spinifex and I just love them! “There is so much beauty here and it is very inspiring.” The 20x20x20 exhibition will be at the Karratha Visitor’s Centre until August 20. There is still a People’s Choice Award, which will be awarded at the end of the exhibition. To enter, just head down to the Centre and check out the local artworks and fill out the form. Further information on the 2012 Cossack Art Award public program is available on the Shire of Roebourne website, email cossack.art@roebourne. wa.gov.au or call 0417 805 128.

Famous for their alternative rock tunes, Australian band Dead Letter Circus already has an impressive live portfolio, including Big Day Out, Come Together, Over-Cranked Music Festival’s, and now to add to the list, the North West Festival.
Hailing from Brisbane, Dead Letter Circus began their music career in 2004 with their selftitled EP, with Disconnect and Apply becoming one of their most played tracks on Triple J. Making up the Dead Letter Circus include Kim Henzie (vocals), Rob Maric (guitar), Stewart Hill (bass) and Luke Williams (drums, vocals). In 2010, their first album This Is The Warning, debuted number two on the Australian album
charts and produced a number of singles that were played heavily on radio. Dead Letter Circus soon became one of Australia’s most popular bands. The last six months have been hard work for the band, wrapping up their second album with singer Kim Benzie describing the album as their ‘next chapter’. “It is a little heavier,” he stated.

New funding for festival The North West Festival, a new music and arts event to be staged in Port Hedland next month, has received a significant funding boost from the State Government to assist the festival to develop over the next three years. Tourism Minister Kim Hames said some of the biggest names in the
Australian music scene had signed up for the North West Festival including hip-hop group Hilltop Hoods, plus The Living End and The Cat Empire. “The festival will also engage the community in a variety of events and activities including a ‘battle of the bands’ competition for emerging local artists, with the winner opening the festival,” Dr Hames said. The North West Festival is supported by the State
Government through Eventscorp’s Regional Events Program, which is funded by Royalties for Regions. Regional Development Minister Brendon Grylls said this announcement was both exciting and significant for Pilbara’s residents. “The Pilbara Cities vision is really coming to life, and the region is undergoing great change, both in terms of its infrastructure and its culture,” Mr Grylls said. “In addition to investing in
major infrastructure projects, it is important that we also invest in projects that build social amenity as they are vital in building strong, vibrant and sustainable communities.

Chris Matthews by the pool Chris Matthews held a more laidback performance beside the pool at the All Seasons last Sunday. Compared to his rockier performances at the Karratha Tav, Chris slowed it down for a familyfriendly environment, mixing up his six and 12 string acoustic guitars and banjo, lap steel, hand claps, stomp box and singing away in his deep baritone register. Originally hailing from wheat, sheep and cattle farms in the south west of WA, independent musician Chris Matthews first appeared on the

“RELAX BY THE POOL”
The house lights dimmed, a hushed silence fell over the crowd and it was once again time to be entertained by the many talented students and staff of St Luke’s. On Saturday, June 30 the curtains opened on the very first Extravaganza in the school’s refurbished performing arts centre/gym. The Extravaganza formed part of the school’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations and will be remembered for its humorous look at the school’s history and the various things students and staff get up to in their spare time. At the end of last year St Luke’s College was able to purchase a sound desk and much needed sound equipment as a result of generous funding grants by Chevron, The Roebourne Shire and Royalties for Regions. Since then Mr Mike Harlen has been working tirelessly to ensure that all the equipment is installed. The Extravaganza was our first opportunity to put the equipment (and Mr Harlen’s handiwork!) to the test. Even though there were a few technical glitches on the night, none of them were insurmountable, in fact, both Mr Harlen and his band of backstage helpers are to be congratulated on calmly getting on with the task at hand and even working the glitches in as part of the performance. The performances were all of a very high quality and

thoroughly enjoyed by the 400 plus appreciative members of the audience. Items such as the Year 9/10 Music class’s powerful Djembe drumming stilled the audience with the first beat and left them in awe of the possibilities of this musical instrument. The comical bus stop skits by the Upper School Drama classes; the Benfer Boys with their TV remote control skit and excerpts from the upcoming pantomime ended with raucous laughter and loud applause from the audience. The beautiful singing by various present and past students balanced out the items and added a touch of seriousness to the event. The haunting voices of Jasmine St Clair and Emma Connelly singing Hero of War, could easily be compared to those of finalists on The Voice. And last, but not least, and definitely a highlight of the evening, was the much anticipated staff item. This year staff succumbed to technology and performed their dance on video with Mr Kavanagh leading the troupe of staff dancing around the school. By the end of the song the whole audience was on their feet joining in the dancing and the celebrations. Needless to say, a great time was had by all.

The angel of cuisine Eating healthy is not really as hard as everyone thinks. In fact, as far as time goes, it’s actually quicker than prepackaged most of the time. Sticking to wholefoods is the easiest way to ensure that everything you put in your mouth will be beneficial to your body. Wholefoods are foods that are unprocessed, unrefined and as close as possible to how they appear in nature. Things like lean meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains. When you know exactly what is in the food you are eating then you won’t get any hidden surprises like extra fat, salt or sugar. Realistically though, it can be incredibly difficult to go from what you are used to every day, to a totally lean and clean diet. So the trick is to take things on a few at a time. Make a list of everything you eat that you know is bad for you. Pick three things from the list each week and tell yourself that when you go shopping you will find a suitable alternative.
It may take a little time in each section to look up the ingredients lists on foods, but it’s worth it. Pick up your old bad food in one hand and compare it to alternatives in the other. Aim for a lower fat, sugar and salt content and you will be well on your way. Try new things, you’ll love some and you’ll hate some. But eventually you will see that you can find a better choice for at least 80% of your bad foods and each little change will make a big difference to your health. Then when you do indulge in your bad foods it will be a real treat rather than part of your every day. If you have something you love and are struggling to find a healthier alternative, feel free to email me and I’ll help you find it. Have a healthy week!! Exercising with other people is much easier than going it alone. You will find that you push yourself more with others around and they will motivate you to keep going for longer. Plus it’s just fun to have a friend to talk or whinge to while you are getting fit and healthy. Pick up a class at the gym and chat to the person next to you, or take a chance and start talking to people you work or socialise with. You will find that most people have similar goals and dreams when it comes to health and fitness and are waiting for someone to motivate them also.

Australia has one of the highest incidences of skin cancer in the world, at nearly four times the rates of Canada, the US and the UK. The five-year relative survival rate for melanoma is 90% for Australian men and 95% for Australian women. So, if you are 20 years or older and answer ‘Yes’ to three or more of the following statements, you may be at greater risk of developing skin cancer. Have you: A family member who has had a malignant melanoma. (Mother, Brother, Sister or Grandparents) Five or more moles (not freckles) on your forearms. Previously had moles removed that were not cancers.
Previously had skin cancer. A mole or freckle, which is changing, size, colour or shape. Fair skin that always burns rather than tans. Had blistering sunburn as a child enough to stay off school. Any inflamed skin sores that do not heal. BEA is good for business
• Margaret Bertling speaks about how the KDCCI awards has helped her photography business
When she’s not dangling out of helicopters, she’s hanging off ladders hundreds of feet in the air or driving thousands of kilometres through the remote Pilbara outback to get the perfect photograph. She’s shot movie stars and political leaders but she specialises in bringing multi-billion dollar energy and resource projects to life through her 70-200mm lens. A media professional with a standout career spanning more than 20 years, Pilbara Site Pics Principal Photographer Margaret Bertling, has made a name for herself taking ‘pictures that work’. With a growing client base of both national and international clients, including some of the world’s most respected news publications, Margaret is one of the region’s most in-demand photographers. She’s also the owner of an awardwinning business.
Nominations for the 2012 KDCCI Business Excellence Awards are now open For the first time this year the KDCCI has also introduced a Peoples’ Choice – Service Excellence Award, which gives people a chance to say ‘thank-you’ to businesses that always go above and beyond. Nomination forms, including eligibility criteria, are available online at www.kdcci.asn.au, in person at Unit 3/24 De Grey Place Karratha or by emailing events@kdcci.asn.au.
Karratha Airport Coaster Bus Lane Closure Saturday 4 August
With back to back success at the 2010 and 2011 KDCCI Business Excellence Awards, Margaret also went on to take out top honours in the home based business category at last year’s WA Regional Small Business Awards. Margaret said that what motivated her to participate in the KDCCI awards was being encouraged by a former KDCCI employee. “It was a very confronting process, you really put your business under the microscope. “I was warned that it could be difficult but well worth the effort,” she said. When finding out that she was a finalist, Margaret felt an immense sense of pride that something she had created was deemed to be a potential winning formula in the judges’ eyes. “I saw the other businesses in the category and there were some outstanding operators in there, never

The coaster bus lane located at the front of the terminal at Karratha Airport will be temporarily closed on Saturday 4 August due to essential electrical works associated with the power upgrade project. Coaster buses will utilise the passenger drop off and pick up lane and the short term car park during the temporary closure. Vehicles larger than a coaster bus (11 – 22 seats) will be required to park in the newly sealed bus parking area to the east of the terminal as normal.
did I imagine I would have the honour of winning the regional award,” she said. “The benefits (of participating) have been immeasurable. “I respond to being the best at whatever I do and it set my personal bar to go higher and take the business up a notch or two. “The BEA challenged me to think outside the square and take calculated risks to grow and develop my business and indeed my skill base.” Margaret believes that for anyone contemplating participating in the awards, she would reiterate the advice given to her. “You have nothing to lose; even if you don’t win your category you will see your business in its rawest of forms and from that you can grow,” she said. “There are no losers in this process, everyone who enters wins in some form.”
no chemicals and a minimum amount of water to grow. It is also an amazingly durable fabric with an appearance similar to linen, but much softer and easier to care for. It improves with wearing and washing becoming even softer over time. Hemp fabric breathes well, readily absorbs moisture, and gives excellent UV protection. This accounts for its coolness and comfort when used for clothing or bedding. Hemp is the longest and strongest natural plant fibre and the hemp cloth is extremely hard wearing, as it outwears
cotton and other natural fibers. Hemp seed oil, which is used in our body care range, is made in Margaret River. The oil is easily absorbed into the skin and moisturises all skin types, but is especially beneficial for dry and damaged skin. It can also help to clear up psoriasis and eczema. The Margaret River Hemp Co specialises in all things hemp from clothing, body care, bags and bedding. They provide a mail and telephone ordering service. The appointed contractor will implement a traffic management plan to manage the diversion. The coaster bus lane is scheduled to re-open on Sunday 5 August The works being undertaken are part of a $10.9 million electrical network service upgrade project currently underway at the airport. The project is funded by the Shire of Roebourne and is due for completion in early 2013.

Great Wall of China was a convincing winner of The $40,000 XXXX Gold Roebourne Cup (2200m) last Saturday. Ridden a perfect race by Jockey Kim Gladwin, Great Wall Of China began beautifully and settled in fourth place along the back straight. His main rival, Indamani was second on the outside of the leader, Catchphrase, and it looked like the two favourites would fight the race out. Indamani grabbed the lead around the home corner and fought on very well, but Gladwin had saved Great Wall Of China for a strong finish in the home straight and he raced away for an easy win. Whilst Great Wall Of China was a convincing winner, there were many good runs in the race. Racso ran home well for 2nd, Indamani battled on nicely for 3rd, Stormish made up good ground after blowing the start and last years winner, Henry Joseph also made up ground running fifth. But the $26,000 first prize went the way of the Peter Dellar stable. It will be interesting to see whether they now pursue The
Port Hedland Cup or go straight to Broome for The $100,000 XXXX Gold Broome Cup on August 18. Steel Blue led all the way to take out The $20,000 All Seasons Handicap (1200m), giving visiting Victorian Jockey, Peter Hutchinson his first win at Roebourne. Hutchinson has ridden winners all over the world, but nothing compares to the red dust at Roebourne. Steel Blue had run a nice race at Marble Bar and provided a welcome change of luck for Manypeaks Trainer, Jo-Anne Leeson. Trainer, Ray Malpass and Jockey, Mark Forder started the day on the right note, winning the first two races. Dark Enigma outstayed his rivals to win The $8,000 Karratha Tavern Maiden (1600m), whilst KeyRuna came with a strong finish to win The $8,000 Transfield Morley Handicap (1200m). KeyRuna was about three lengths away at the 150 metre mark, but flew in the final stages to record his 2nd win at The Roebourne Track. Prince Bellagio was very impressive in leading all the way in The $9,000 Decmil Handicap (1100m). The stable have a high
opinion of him and he was running further away from his rivals in the final stages. Parador made amends for his unlucky 2nd last start, by taking out The $10,000 Portacom Handicap (1400m). His job was made easier, when the favourite, Starline Porsche, stood flat footed in the gates and took no part in the race. Starline Porsche was considered a starter, leaving favourite punters with another way to lose their money. Parador always travelled well for Apprentice Jockey, Chanelle O’Grady and fought on well in the straight, withstanding a strong finish from Major Bligh. Mundijong Trainer, Jack Cockell rarely ventures North without getting a winner and Run Holder produced the goods for him in The $8,500 Chameleon Handicap (1400m). Giving O’Grady a double on the day, Runholder grew wings in the final stages to grab Rivale Boy on the line. A huge crowd attended the Cup meeting wrapping up the season for The Nor West Jockey Club, which was marred by losing one meeting to rain. Attention now swings to Port Hedland with The $40,000 Port Hedland Cup on Monday, August 6.

BMX north west round Round one of the North West BMX Championships was held in Karratha last weekend. With close racing, the riders pushed all the way to the finish line; there was a great display of good sportsmanship throughout the night. The second round of the North West Championship is in Port Hedland on August 25. Thanks goes out to all the volunteers who prepared the track, sorted out the canteen food and stood in an official role for the night. Also, to the North West Championship partners, Lubritene, Bike Force Geraldton, Crawford Realty and Scott Cycles. Track manager Rodney Gethin would like to thank everyone who helped get the track up to the great standard that is was for the NWC. “It was a lot of hard work but very worthwhile,” he said. “A special thanks to John Bennett for living at the track for the past few weeks and also to Darren Gillan who fixed the Downer Roller so we could have a smooth fast track. “Raff thought we could just put a few cones around the roller, which was stuck on the end of the first straight so we could keep on racing. “Thanks to Rodney Nolle from Downer who magically organised a roller (best one yet) to appear at the track on Friday with very short notice.”
