Biography Tanyapa Keonil (Pim) was born in 1998, she is fashion design student in Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Chulalongkorn University. Before attending these college she was graduated from Bodindecha(sing singhaseni) School major in science-medicine. She decided to learn fashion and textiles and start practice and develop her drawing and fashion illustrating skills since 2014. Most of her works were inspired by a variety of cultures and also vintage elements from many eras, such as the wife house and sock-hop culture in 1950’s. To describe her style in shorts, she could conclude her mood and tone in three words; feminine, nostalgic and kitsch. Those styles were all presented in her details and materials. Tanyapa also uses a lot of fine and luxury fabric along with craft technique to symbolize her kitsch-style collections. In the second year of studying in fashion and textile, she has done two collections. The first project was influenced by the homosexual movies called ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ in 1990’s. The latter collection was inspired by Hungarian folk culture and folktales. The techniques that she utilizes serve to create clothes that are both delicate and fragile, but the character she designs for conflicts with the beauty of her technique, bringing a clumsy and charming to her silhouettes and fabric combinations. Pim is currently working on a new interpretation of her archive collections to be presented at Chulalongkorn Museum, Pathumwan. Alongside the archive will be new pieces, an experimental with pre-thesis project represented as wearable art which she defined as creative-womens wear design project.
