We were ASked to make a center whICH BASED ON A TURKISH PROMINENT FIGURE. AS MY FIGURE WAS YILDIZ KENTER, THE SPACE DESIGNED BASED ON THEATER. They ARE EXPECTED TO DESIGN A RESEARCH CENTER DEDICATED TO RESEARCH, LEARNING, COMMUNICATION AND SHARING OF THE LIVES AND WORKS OF A PERSON WHO HAS GREATLY CONTRIBUTED TO THE TURKISH FIELDS OF ARTS, CULTURE AND SOCIAL LIFE. THIS PROJECT AIMS TO REACH PEOPLE WHO ARE INTERESTED IN THEATER SO THAT IT HAS A STAGE AT THE HEART OF THE SPACE. FURTHERMORE, THE AMBIANCE OF THE SPACE REFLECT THE MODERN ARCHITECTURE WHICH ADHERE THE BEHRUZ CINICI’S DESIGN. MOST FURNITURES ARE COSTOM DESIGN, SOME OF THEM ARE CHOOSED ACCORDING TO MODERNITY. AS A RESEARCH CENTER, THE MAIN FUNCTION OF THE BUILDING IS TO SHARE,COMMUNICATE AND ADD TO THE KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THEATER. MY DESIGN REPRESENT THE IDENTITY AND CHARACTER OF YILDIZ KENTER WHICH SUPPORTED BY THEATRICAL SPACES. THE RESEARCH CENTER IS LOCATED AS A PART OF THE LARGER MIDDLE EAST TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY LIBRARY. THE CENTER IS EXPECTED TO DRAW ATTENTION OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AS WELL AS PEOPLE FROM THE LARGER CITY AND THE COUNTRY EXTENDING TO AN INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY.

ENTERANCE FLOOR PLAN THE BUILDING MUST HAVE ENTERANCE AND THE WAITING PART WHICH TAKES PART IN DISTRIBUTION TO OTHER SPACES IN ORDER TO REACH AN EASY ACCESS. I USE A DIFFERENT FLOOR FINISHING FOR ORIENTATION SO THAT I USE IN CIRCULATION ELEMENTS (STAIRS AND ELEVATOR).
STAGE AND SPECTATOR FLOOR PLAN THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART THAT THE PROJECT HAS. THIS IS BECAUSE IT REFLECTS THE MY PROMINENT ARTIST. AS SHE SAYS THEATER IS WHERE I LIVE, WHERE I BREATHE THE CENTER OF MY LIFE, THE CONCEPT IS SHAPED MOSTLY BY THIS QUOTATION.
ADMINISTRATION FLOOR PLAN We were ASked to make aN ADMINISTRATION PART IN ORDER TO CONTRIBUTE ADMINISTRATION STAFF.THE BUILDING SHOULD HAVE DIRECTOR’S OFFICE WITH OR ACCESS TO MEETING ROOM, ASSISTANT DIRECTOR’S OFFICE, SECRETARY AND STAFF MEETING ROOM. I SPERATED THE SPACE INTO THREE; A SPACE WHICH IS TAKEN PLACE IN DIRECTOR OFFICE AND THE MEETING AREA, FOR THE OTHER TWO SPACE, SECRETARY AND DIRECTOR ARE PLACED BY USING A SMALL PARTITION BETWEEN EACH OTHER.

MATERIALS THE LIBRARY BUILDING IN METU CAMPUS IS A SIGNIFICANT PART OF OUR ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE, DESIGNED BY BEHRUZ CINICI AND HIS ARCHITECTURAL TEAM BETWEEN FOLLOWING EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON LIBRARY BUILDING. THE BUILDING IS ONE OF THE GREATEST EXAMPLE OF MODERN ARCHITECTURE. AS THE BUILDING IS REFLECTED MODERN ARCHITECTURE, THE DESIGN OF SPACES ARE SHAPED ACCORDING TO ORIGINAL MODERNITY THOUGHTS. EXPECTATION OF THIS PROJECT WAS CLUBBING AND SOCIALIZATION BY PROPOSING INNOVATIVE WAYS OF DOING THE ACTIVITIES OF EATING AND DRINKING. these activities will take place accompanied by a rich context of other entertainments such as organized musical and/or dance presentations/small-scale theatre performances, stand-up shows, as well as live music and live dancing. the BUILDING SHOULD ENCOURAGE SOCIAL ENCOUNTERS, AND SUPPORT THE BUILDUP OF SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS.

THE BUILDING THAT I RE-USED FOR THE ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES IS LOCATED IN THE GENCLIK PARKI ANKARA, AND HAS TRADITIONALLY SERVED SIMILAR SOCIAL ENTERTAINMENT FUNCTIONS. IN THIS PROJECT THE DESIGN IDEA WAS CREATING A HUGE VOLUME WHICH WAS CONSISTED OF A BAR THAT CONTINUES BOTH TWO FLOOR AND THE DANCE STAGES COVERING AROUND THE BAR. THE BUILDING CONSISTS OF TWO COMPARTMENTS WHICH I DESIGNED ONE FOR EATING, THE OTHER FOR ENTERTAINING. THE SPACES WERE WHITE, IN THE MORNING THE INTERIOR WAS WHITE BUT IN THE NIGHTS THE INTERIOR WAS COLOURFUL WITH THE LIGHTS WHICH CHANGABLE ACCORDING TO PEOPLE MOVEMENT WHEN THEY WERE DANCING. THE RHYTM OF THE MUSIC WAS ANOTHER DECISIVE FACTOR ABOUT THE LIGHTS OF THE BUILDING.

IT WAS THE FIRST APPLICATION PROJECT WHICH IS GOING TO BE USED FOR THE OWNER OF THE FIRM. I deSIGNED THIS PROJECT WHEN I WAS FOURTH YEAR OF THE UNIVERSITY. IT WAS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THE DIFFICULTIES OF A PROJECT ON MY OWN. NO ONE WAS NOT HELP FOR THE PROJECT. THE SPACE WAS 130 SQUARE METER, THE AREA SHOULD CONSIST OF A WELCOMING AREA, OPEN OFFICE FOR TWO PEOPLE, A KITCHEN, A RESTROOM AND A DIRECTOR OFFICE. THE CONCEPT SHOULD ADDRESS THE CLIENT DEMANDS. HE WANTED SPACIOUS SPACE. ALSO HE WANTED TO BE PUT FORWARD THE FURNITURES. THEREFORE, LESS WAS CREATE THE SPACE, MORE WAS CREATE THE FURNITURES.

FOR THIS PROJECT, THEY EXPECTED TO DESIGN A STAND FOT THE ANNUAL SPRING FESTIVAL HELD ON BILKENT UNIVERSITY. DURING THIS OCCASION UNIVERSITY, FRIENDS AND COMMUNITY COME TOGETHER AND GET THE OPPORTUNITY TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT STUDYING AND WORKING AT BILKENT. BESIDES DIFFERENT HIGHLIGHTS AND THEMES OF THE FESTIVAL, STUDENT CLUBS WILL PARTICIPATE AS WELL. SINCE TWO REPRESENTATIVES FROM THE CLUB WILL USE THE STAND AT ALL TIMES, IT SHOULD MAINTAIN SEATING UNITS AND A PLACE FOR BELONGINGS. DIFFERENT WEATHER CONDITIONS, SUCH AS RAIN, WIND OR SUN SHOULD BE CONSIDERED AND A SHELTER OR OTHER DESIGN ELEMENTS SHOULD BE PROVIDED FOR PROTECTION.
MUSIC CLUB STAND TURKEY, ANKARA, BILKENT
THE CONCEPT OF THIS PROJECT EMERGED FROM A TECHNICAL TERM WHICH CALLED LOOP. LOOP IS A REPEATING SECTION OF SOUND.THEREFORE, THE GEOMETRY OF THE STAND CAME FROM THIS MOVEMENT. THE GEOMETRY OF THE STAND BLURS OUR NATIONS OF INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, THE SIMPLE ACT OF MOVING THROUGH THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR SPACES BRING AND UNDERSTANDING TO THE VISITOR. THIS STAND ENCOURAGE THE SHARING OF JOYFUL STORIES AND PROVIDE DISCUSSION ABOUT MUSIC. THE PROJECT IS A SELF-SUPPORTING STRUCTURE WITH 3M IN HEIGHT IN AREA, DESIGNED ENTIRELY WITH ALUCABOND COMPOZIT PANELS.

IN THIS PROJECT, ASKED TO DESIGN THE LIGHTING OF A THEATER FOYER. THE MAJOR AIM OF THIS LIGHTING PROJECT WAS TO CREATE AN AMBIANCE CONSISTENT WITH DESIGN CONCEPT WITH LIGHT AND USE OF COLOUR WHILE PROVIDING ENOUGH LIGHT FOR TASK PERFORMANCE. THIS WAS GROUP PROJECT WHICH WAS WORKED FIVE PEOPLE. THE CONCEPT OF THE PROJECT WAS A STREET. WE CALLED AS A STREET FOYER. THEREFORE, EVERY DETAIL IN SPACE WAS CAME FROM A STREET, BESIDES THE MATERIALS OF THE INTERIOR. mOST IMPORTANTLY, THE CEILING WAS THOUGHT AS SKY. THE OTHER LIGHTING ELEMENTS WERE AGAIN DESIGNED TO FEEL THE OUTSIDE LIKE A STREET LIGHTING BUT WITH AN ARCHITECTURAL LANGUAGE.
