“De Lima keeps on talk ing about having to verify the “tell-all”,” wika pa ng source, “but who can do the verification if not the origi nal whistleblowers, like Luy? They are the logical people who can verify the contents of Napoles’ affida vit and list.” “What they only ask for is for De Lima to give them a copy of the affidavit for them to have the opportu nity to verify her statements and for them to counter her claims,” wika pa ng source. Aniya sinabi ni Luy, “The NBI (National Bureau of In
vestigation) cannot verify whatever Ma’am Janet says in her tell-all. Only us whis tleblowers are the ones who can verify this.”

You can not put a value to this be cause when the war comes, there is that need for prior exercises to have cohesion,” aniya pa. “Personally, I am satisfied with what was forged but if a senator will feel otherwise and they would file resolu tions to that effect, I will hear it definitely,” anang senador. Ana pang senador, “The question remains: Will the US help our fishermen in the West Philippine Sea if and when the Chinese push them out of our fishing grounds?”

“Even if we have 40%, the challenge for us is to improve. There is still room for improvement and we can go 50% or 60%,” pahayag ni UNA secretary general Toby Tiangco. “The vice president will work harder in the responsibilities given to him because the only way (to win) is to perform your job well. In the end, its performance,” dagdag pa ni Tiangco. “We are focused on our work and I do not pay attention to these kind of things,”
aniya.

Mild El Niño to occur this June – DOST
The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) announced recently that a mild El Niño is likely to occur this June. Mario Montejo, DOST Secretary, said that the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is now closely monitoring theoceanic and atmospheric conditions in the tropical Pacific Ocean that could lead to a possible development of an El Niño this year. “We foresee the onset of El Niño in June to peak during the last quarter of 2014,” he said. PAGASA has recorded a significant increase in the sea surface temperature anomaly from 0.2 degrees Centigrade to 0.4 degrees Centigrade, an unusually warm ocean temperature in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean. “El Niño is a natural climate variability,” climatologist Annaliza Solis said. The looming El Niño may persist for the next nine months or the first quarter of 2015, Montejo said. “Of course, the El Niño would affect the normal
rainfall pattern resulting in reduced rainfall amount,” he added. Dry spell in different parts of the country may be felt, he noted. Despite an El Niño occurrence, Montejo said the country would still experience the normal number of typhoons, but would cause their behavior to become erratic affecting their tracks and intensity.
Richard Orendain, PAGASA’s hydrologist, said the water elevation of Bulacan’s Angat Dam that supplies 97 percent of Metro Manila’s potable drinking water, would go down at its critical level in August due to the impact of the dry spell to be brought about by the El Niño. “Of all the major dams, only Angat Dam has continued to remain low,” he
added. Orendain said Angat Dam’s elevation could even dip to as low as 176.75 meters and 154.30 meters based on the bureau’s scenario 1 and scenario 2 forecasts, respectively.” Angat Dam’s level dropped to 157.56 meters during an El Niño in July 2010.n Christopher Lloyd T. Caliwan/PNA
“The target date (of completion) is one year from the start (of construction). It started on April. Hopefully, it will be completed by April next year,” paliwanag ni Sorena.
“We are proposing 96 nautical mile range (from the radar station towards the sea). At least it can cover 200 EEZ (exclusive economic zone),” aniya.

Do not set the alarm! Hurry!”
“Before, the folks in Paoay
anao as a whole. We are hope ful that the effective imple mentation of the agreement will unleash the region’s vast potentials for agriculture and agribusiness investments, tourism, and natural resource development, among others,” ayon sa nasabing grupo. Naniniwala naman si De partment of Tourism Re gional Director for Region
“Foreign governments would issue travel advisories that prohibit their citizens to travel to the region and other parts of Mindanao because
“The establishment of Bangsamoro government will improve the tourism indus try even as it creates more job opportunities and invest ments in the region although we are not part of the new po litical entity,” aniya. “You know peace is the number one requirement that tourists need before jumping in,” ayon pa kay Dillera.n

net at may panahon namang mabagal. If by that time the Senate scoreboard would still show a laughable number of bills passed, then we can’t the blame the people if they start calling for the abolition of the Senate for being the country’s most expensive soapbox. To escape this fate, then senators should talk less and work more. After all the problem is not only their image, but also their work style. This would, however, require less chasing of newspaper headlines and more searching for the fixes to our country’s many ills. It also means resisting the hypnotic seduction of TV cameras and quietly work-
ing on bills without expecting publicity, not even firing a single Tweet that one has contributed a single comma to a bill being polished. The Senate can begin with tackling the legislation needed to prevent a repeat of the great pork barrel robbery because, after all, the declared purpose of all those televised hearings was not the accumulation of a library of film footage but in the introduction of permanent solutions to thievery in high places. If the Senate wants to win back the people’s trust, then it must do courtship the old Filipino way, which was not through songs and serenade but through sweat, when a

Never mind if it would trigger a she said-they said flurry of accusations. In fact, such an exchange is needed to ferret out the truth, at a time when truth has become an important commodity that it is often surrounded by lies.n

Chair Loretta Ann Rosales of the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) also took to task the PMA leadership especially on the aspect of respect for human rights and
fundamental freedoms. “The PMA leadership, by failing to exercise command responsibility, rendered itself complicit in this mockery of justice,” Rosales was quoted in a news report. The same report stated that the CHR “also recommended the filing of administrative, criminal (for perjury), and civil suits for violations of the Honor Code, dishonesty and violation of the secrecy of the ballot, tampering with the true result of the voting, intentional omission in the Minutes of substantive part of the formal trial proceedings which is prejudicial to the interest of justice, and discrimination, against officers and members of the so-called Honor Committee who are now all second lieutenants.n Please address comments or suggestions, if any, to dcgrava@aol.com

Lawyers’ group condemns lawsuit seeking removal of ‘comfort women’ monument
Franco Arcebal, a World War II veteran, wrote that the abduction of many beautiful young girls from his high school and their forcible servitude (as sex slaves) by Japanese military officers were among “the compelling reasons for my joining the guerrilla resistance movement and fight-
ing for the defeat of the notorious occupants of our country.” US President Barack Obama, while on a visit to South Korea a few days ago, described the Japanese military’s policy of forced prostitution of Asian women before and during the last world war “as a terrible, egregious violation of human
rights in ways that even in the midst of war were shocking.” Yet despite a mountain of evidence, most Japanese leaders and nationalists refuse to admit and accept responsibility for those heinous acts. Now comes an article in the Forbes web site about the Mayer Brown law office fil-
ing a case on behalf of two Japanese-Americans, Michiko Shiota Gingery and Koichi Mera, and intending to prove that the so-called comfort women “were no more than common prostitutes.” The suit, according to the report, also alleges that the above named Japanese-Americans will suffer

“irreparable injury” from “feelings of exclusion, discomfort, and anger” if a Korean-funded memorial to the comfort women which was recently established in a park in Glendale, California, is not removed. Washington, D.C. lawyer Beverly Perez forwarded to PINAS on behalf of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association (NFALA) a statement that NFALA “is deeply troubled by the federal lawsuit filed by the Los Angeles office of Mayer Brown on February 20, 2014. The federal lawsuit seeks the removal of a public monument in Glendale, California, which has been in Glendale Central Park since July 2013, and was built as a tribute to the more than 200,000 women and girls from the Philippines, Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, and many other countries who were forced into sexual slavery by the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II (‘comfort women’).” NFALA said that the complaint shamefully alleges that
comfort women “were recruited, employed, and/or otherwise acted as sexual partners” of Japanese soldiers. “This description of comfort women as prostitutes and/or otherwise willing sexual participants defames the hundreds of women and girls abducted, tortured and raped during World War II by the Japanese Imperial Army, such as Maria Rosa Luna Henson—the first Filipina comfort woman to break her silence about being abducted and raped repeatedly by Japanese soldiers at the age of 14. Maria died in 1997 without receiving the justice that she deserved, but her fight for justice and her story does not die with her,” said NFALA. “In a society governed by the rule of law, it is critical to acknowledge injustices to ensure that similar injustices do not happen again. The Glendale memorial is a reminder to us all that sexual violence should never be tolerated,” said Rudy Figueroa, Esq., NFALA President. According to NFALA, it supports initiatives that ensure the tragic stories of the comfort women of World War II are remembered by our generation, so that the injustice and violence they endured will not be repeated. It notes that House Resolution 121, which was written and sponsored by Japanese-American Congressman Mike Honda of California and unanimously approved by the U.S. House of Representatives, aptly states: “The Government of Japan, during its colonial and wartime occupation of Asia and the Pacific Islands from the 1930’s through the duration of World War II, officially commissioned the acquisition of young women for the sole purpose of sexual servitude to its Imperial Armed Forces.” NFALA said that it commends the passage of said House Resolution, the Glendale City Council’s approval of the comfort women monument in its public park and other acts of remembrance throughout the country. Hindi malayong bumagsak ang ating lipunan
Mayo Nobyembre 3–Mayo26–Disyembre 11, 2014 2, 2011

The toppling of the Marcos dictatorship in 1986 whipped up nationalistic fervor among the new intelligentsia who saw an opportunity to create a society free of foreign influence and interference. It was a period of unbridled nationalism that blamed the malaise of the past on America’s perceived meddling in the Philippines’ national affairs. It did not then come as a surprise that the 1987 Constitution was crafted to prohibit foreign military bases on Philippine soil. Article XVIII, Section 25, of the new constitution states that “foreign military bases, troops, or facilities shall not be allowed in the Philippines except under a treaty duly concurred in by the Senate and, when the Congress so requires, ratified by a majority of the votes cast by the people in a national referendum held for that purpose, and recognized as a treaty by the other contracting State.” In 1991, twelve senators voted 12-11 to reject the extension of the US-Philippines Military Bases Agreement. The vainglorious senators—who called them selves, the Magnificent 12—justified their vote by claiming that the treaty was favorable to the U.S. but not to the Philippines. The following year, the U.S. bases were closed.
Chinese aggression
Two years after the closure of the U.S. bases in 1992, China seized the Panganiban Reef (Mischief Reef) in the middle of the night. And the Philippine Armed Forces couldn’t do anything to take it back. In the past three years, China aggressively pursued her territorial claim to about 80% of the South China Sea including the Spratly archipelago. In 2012, she took possession of Panatag Shoal
(Scarborough Shoal). That didn’t bode well with President Benigno Aquino III, who, ultimately would bear a stigma of guilt should he fail to do something to deter Chinese aggression. While the U.S.-Philippine Mutual Defense Treaty (MDT) is still in effect, there is no ironclad guarantee that America would come to the Philippines’ aid in a timely fashion. Recently, China attempted to take possession of Ayungin Shoal, which is only 105 nautical miles from the coast of Palawan and within the Philippines’ 200-mile Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). But what deterred the Chinese from taking over the uninhabited but strategically located shoal was a small detachment of Philippine marines deployed to a rusty naval ship, the BRP Sierra Madre, which lay aground off Ayungin. Consequently, China made several diplomatic efforts to pressure the Philippine government into removing Sierra Madre from the vicinity, claiming that China has absolute and indisputable sovereignty over Ayungin and the rest of the Spratlys including
9
the proven oil-and gas-rich Recto Bank. But with a navy with no warships and an air force with no warplanes, the Philippines is defenseless against Chinese attack.
EDCA
The signing of the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) last April 28, 2014 came at a time when China was poised to strike at the Spratly islands. Signed hours before U.S. President Barack Obama arrived in Manila, EDCA will give American forces temporary access to selected Philippine military bases, and allow them to preposition fighter jets and ships. The question is: How significant is EDCA to the overall rebalancing of U.S. naval and air forces in the Asia-Pacific region? To answer that question, one has to be cognizant of China’s goal of controlling the First Island Chain and Second Island Chain. The First Island Chain runs from Japan all the way to Vietnam by way of Taiwan, Philippines, Borneo, Malaysia, and Singapore. The Second Island Chain runs from Japan all the way to Australia by way of the U.S. territories of Guam and Saipan, and Papua New Guinea.
China Dream
In an article titled, “China to take Second Island Chain by 2020,” published last year in the Want China Times, it said: “In 1982, Admiral Liu Huaqing, the former commander of the PLA Navy and the mastermind
perrydiaz@gmail.com of China’s modern naval strategy, said that it would be necessary for China to control the First and Second Island Chains by 2010 and 2020. The PLA Navy must be ready to challenge US domination over the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean in 2040. If China is able to dominate the Second Island Chain seven years from now, the East China Sea will become the backyard of the PLA Navy.” Prior to the signing of EDCA, the Philippines was the weakest link in the First Island Chain. Not anymore. EDCA strengthened the chain link; thus, containing China to the confines of East China and South China Seas. Obama’s four-nation Asian tour to Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and the Philippines plays an important part in maintaining the status quo and balance of power in the Asia-Pacific Region. China should realize that she couldn’t—and shouldn’t— bully her neighbors into submission for as long as America remains a Pacific power. It was a long journey from EDSA to EDCA indeed. But it was a journey worth taking.n

DPRK threatens to conduct “new form of nuclear test”
P
YONGYANG—The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) threatened to carry out “a new form of nuclear test” in response to U.S. President Barack Obama’s Asia tour than ended in Manila on April 29. ...............................................................................
“The DPRK will advance along the road of bolstering up nuclear deterrent, un hindered, now that the U.S. brings the dark clouds of a nuclear war to hang over the DPRK,” an unnamed spokesman of the DPRK’s Foreign Ministry was quot ed by the official KCNA news agency as saying in a statement. “There is no statute of lim itations to the DPRK’s decla ration that it will not rule out
a new form of nuclear test clarified by it in the March 30 statement. This is the exer cise of the inviolable right to self-defense,” the statement said. The statement blasted Obama’s four-nation Asian tour, saying the trip was a dangerous one as “it was aimed to bring dark clouds of more acute confrontation and nuclear arms race to Asia.” “Facts clearly prove that
his tour was designed for un disguised confrontation to re tain a tighter grip on allies of the U.S. and encircle and con tain its rivals in Eurasia, pur suant to the U.S. Asia-Pacific strategy for domination and scenario for aggression from A to Z,” it said. The statement said Oba ma’s unwillingness to open talks with the DPRK is tanta mount to a declaration before the world that “the U.S. hos tile policy toward the DPRK remains unchanged, the U.S. tries to bring down the DPRK by force and it began to carry out such scenario.” “His reckless acts only escalated the danger of con frontation and conflict in the Asia-Pacific region and gave further momentum to the op
position to him,” it warned. Obama will have to pay for his “reckless acts” in the midterm elections in November, it added. “What remains to be done by the Obama group is to watch what kind of seeds of fire sown by him this time would develop into flames that may affect the U.S.,” the statement warned. On March 30, the DPRK vowed not to rule out the possibility of conducting a new form of nuclear test if the United States continues its hostile policy toward Pyong yang. The DPRK conducted nu clear tests in October 2006, May 2009 and February 2013 respectively.n PNA/Xinhua
Diamond embargo lifted over Cote d’Ivoire UNITED NATIONS—The UN Security Council has voted unanimously to lift a ban on importing rough di amonds from Ivory Coast. A resolution adopted by the council on April 29 im mediately terminates sanc tions imposed in 2005 on diamond imports from the west African nation. The council noted that the Kimberley Process, the international initiative that regulates the diamond trade, recognised last No vember that Ivory Coast had fulfilled its diamond certification scheme’s mini mum requirements. The Security Council maintained an arms embar go on Ivory Coast until April 30, 2015, with exceptions for the UN peacekeeping mis sion and disarmament ef forts, and a requirement that the Ivorian government get advance UN approval for any arms shipments. It also maintained financial and travel bans until that date. After an attempted coup sparked a civil war in 2002, Ivory Coast was split into a rebel-controlled north and government-controlled south. A peace deal in March 2007 brought key rebel lead ers into the administration, but deep divisions remained. The council commended

JAKARTA—The Indonesia Ministry of Tourism and Cre ative Economy has allowed foreign investment in tourism sector to reach 100 percent share as long as the investor has a joint venture with a lo cal partner, the director of tourism said recently. “The foreign investment in the tourism sector is allowed to reach 100 percent with a condi tion that it has a joint venture with the locals, since we want share-knowledge and skills through that partnership,” stated General Director of Tourism Destination Develop ment Firmansyah Rahim. Indonesia is rich with un touched tourism destination that needed investors to devel op its potentials, that is why Firmansyah noted that the Ministry of Tourism pushes investments through various programs and incentives. As the region grows with tourism, jobs would be avail able for locals, increasing their welfare. The tourism sector in Indo nesia has also benefited from the trend of traveling and green life-style among the community. “Hence we could develop both biodiversity and indige nous community as Eco-tour ism destination,” Firmansyah clarified. Moreover, Firmansyah not ed that the world’s positive sentiment toward Indonesia is growing continuously that encourages investment in In

In line with the survey re sult, the president director of Tauzia Hotel Management Indonesia, which operates Harris Hotel and Pop! Canadian parks to provide wireless internet in parks’ hot spots
A child worker hauls mud from a mining block in a diamond mine in Africa. Conflict diamonds or blood diamonds—diamonds that are traded illegally to buy arms and fund conflicts in Africa—continue to be a problem in Cote d'Ivoire as stones in rebel held territories in the northern part of the country are smuggled into other African nations and laundered into the legitimate diamond trade. The trade in such diamonds have resulted in millions of deaths, rape, displacement and torture in afflicted African countries. efforts by President Alassane Ouattara and his government to stabilise the security situa tion, accelerate economic de velopment, and strengthen international and regional cooperation, notably with Ghana and Liberia. It called on all major play ers in Ivory Coast to address the underlying causes of ten sion and conflict and urged all illegal Ivorian armed combat ants, including in neighbor

The council said the gov ernment urgently needed to train and equip its security forces, especially the police and gendarmerie, stressing that they must uphold human rights and international law. The council encouraged Ivo ry Coast to host a Kimberley Process review of its diamond industry within nine months. The diamond industry, rights
groups, and 75 countries have worked together as members of the Kimberley Process since 2003 to impose requirements on its members to enable them to certify rough dia monds as “conflict-free”, so that purchasers can be con fident they are not funding violence. The project was born af ter wars in Sierra Leone and Liberia that were fuelled by so-called blood diamonds.n
VANCOUVER—To those who like travelling and jog ging or camping in the na tional parks, they have good news now. Parks Canada, an agency of the Canadian gov ernment, has revealed plans to offer Wi-Fi service at its na tional parks and national his toric sites. Local news media reported recently that the parks admin istrative agency has promised to have Wi-Fi service between 25 and 50 hot spots at key na tional parks and historic sites this year. That will grow to 100 hot spots in even more locations over the next couple of years. About 20 million people a year visit Parks Canada’s 44 national parks, 167 national historic sites and four marine conservation areas. Parks Canada also prom
ised to provide Wi-Fi service without any charge at most sites, but to retain the right to charge a fee in areas where offering Wi-Fi service was particularly costly or where it was “not expected.” In many of those remote parks, 3G and 4G cell coverage is partial or non-existent. That “leaves a significant number of visitors disconnected,” the agency said, adding that there is often “an expectation that connectivity is available.” Nowadays, the tourists, even on vacations, still wish to get access to the Internet to stay in touch with their work or office, friends or fam ily, serf the news, share their travel experiences on social media, and keep afresh with the outside world.n

Pagpunta mo wala lahat. -Bobby & Rosevilla Bayron Panorama City “Thanks a lot for your help and good accommodation. I found no hassle in getting a new car from LA Motors. I compliment Jun Guintu as a man with integrity, a man who is willing to help the customer.” -Pastor Philip “Broker Jun Guintu was very accommodating. I think he is very sincere in helping customers and he seems true to his promise to make car buying simple.” -Anonymous comment Posted on Dec. 28, 2005 CARFAX, VOICE OF THE CONSUMER
“We’re a custom bakeshop so customer satisfaction is our highest priority. We do our best to meet the needs for all our clients to make their event very special,” paliwanag ni Ayunan. Spiritual Revolution The
I
n the spiritual revolution we are commanded to love God with all our heart, with all our mind, with all our strength, with all our soul, and second, to love our neighbor as ourself.” (Matthew 22: 37–39) ....................................................
Last Part
Love is the Greatest Commandment
In the Father’s spiritual governance, you can be sued for not loving your neighbor. This is the rule of our revolutionary leader: “Love one another that the world may know that you are my disciples” (John 13: 35), through divine love, meaning, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down His life for his friends.” (John 15: 13) This revolution will enable you to love even the most unlovable by the power of the Spirit of the Father through His Appointed Son. When you have love in your heart, you are ready to die for your neighbor’s sake. You will do good to him even if it costs your life. There is an abundance of love in the hearts of the Father’s sons and daughters. Nobody forced you to come into the Kingdom. You came and surrendered the serpent seed on your own because that is the meaning of love. You come to Him because you really love Him. A spiritual revolution takes place when one decides, by his freedom of choice to follow the life of absolute obedience to the King through His Son. This is done through repentance and surrender of the serpent seed, which is actually the
serpent’s will camouflaging as your human will. This is a 180-degree turn from doing your own will separated from the will of the Father. Doing your own will is sin. That is the enemy of the Father in you. When you follow the Father, you surrender that through the Son. The Son is here to guide you. When you surrender your human will, you forge a spiritual revolution and accept the Father’s will in your life through the Son. You now become the embodiment of the Father’s will. The Son has completely uncovered the deceptive tactics of Satan. He cannot deceive man anymore. April 13, 2005 the Sonship and the Kingship were entrusted to the Appointed Son. Once that entrustment was given that is the end of sin—the end of Lucifer the devil. When our hearts and spirits are tuned to obedience to His will, we receive not only remedial and temporal blessings but eternal blessings as well. The Spiritual Revolution is calling out to those who want to make a decision of serving the Father through the Son. The Son will continue this Spiritual Revolution of Love campaigned by Jesus Christ.n End

“We’re going to announce it in a special bid bulletin,
but it’s most probably in Trinoma,” ayon kay Limcaoco.

...............................................................................
A

Estela Cottle: The lady behind the success of Estela Skin Care
............................................................................... Ni: SHAN GALICIA ............................................................................... t was a blessing in disguise, as they say.
I
............................................................................... When Estela Cottle met with an accident in 1997 during the time that she was working as a dietician at the Asian Community Hospital and Surgical Tech at Verdugo Hills Hospital, she did not know that it would lead her to re-evaluate her career plans and make a decision to pursue a long-time interest in the field of health, beauty and wellness. Though the accident was not fatal, the hospital sent her on a few months leave to recuperate after which they planned to send her back to school. This was when she decided to shift her career and pursue what she truly wanted to do with her life. Even as a high school student, Estela was already an entrepreneur, buying electronics in Raon, which she would sell for a profit in the province. This allowed her to indulge her passion for fashion and beauty for which she had a true flare and to support her other daily needs. She attributes her love for business to her grandparents who inculcated entrepreneurial values in her while she
was growing up. She spent many years with them when her parents opted to live in Manila to seek a livelihood there. With these old dreams in mind and fully recovered, she enrolled at the Newberry School of Beauty where she graduated top of her class. She then started on a new project: Remembering how her grandparents had taught her to always work with compassion, Estela wanted to establish a skin care and beauty clinic for women who could not afford the fees of private dermatology clinics. Thus, Estela Skin Care was born in 1998. Combining excellent customer service with sound medical practices for skin care and beauty, the niche soon caught the attention of women in the area and business flourished at the very first Estela Skin Care Clinic in the famed Pasalubong Shop in Woodman Plaza. In fact, Estela Skin Care soon proved to be a game-changer in the beauty industry in California. Beginning with that first 2-bed clinic, Estela expanded
less than a year later in Burbank with a 5-bed clinic. Today, Estela Skin Care is one of the strongest brands in skin care in San Fernando Valley with 3 branches in Encino, Van Nuys and Panorama City. As an ingredient of her success, Estela stresses the importance of good work ethics combined with compassion and paying back to the community. One of the satisfied customers is Ms. Annalee Laguerder of Calabasas, CA who says, “I keep changing skin care clinics for my freckles and Ms. Estela just did it perfectly. I knew it even on my first visit in her clinic. I knew she was the one.” Betty Roche of Glendale adds more: “ I had my last facial way back 1999 but it was so bad that I vowed I would never get a facial again until I met Estela. She has the gentlest hands I’ve ever had on my face. For me, only Estela for my skin care.” Gilbert Briones from Encino shares, “I used to visit plenty of skin care clinics for my acne problem. I’d been to so many clinics around Los Angeles but stopped hopping when I met Estela. She’s very professional and the fees are very affordable. My face is now clear. I am very satisfied.”
Currently, Estela Skin Care is offering the CRAZY WRAP THING by It Works!® It tightens, tones and firms the whole body in as little as 45 minutes, reducing the appearance of cellulite and providing fast and lasting results from a botanically-based formula. Now, Hollywood’s best-kept secret as seen in the Oscars and Emmy Awards in within women’s reach at Estela Skin Care. NBA world basketball game

kanyang International Boxing Federation (IBF) crown.
If they are unbeaten I will take their 0, give them their first loss,” ani Hopkins. “I could make 165, 168 (pounds) real comfortably.”
Sa talaan ng world rankings, nasa 15 si Vasquez samantalang WBA No. 4, WBC No. 5, WBO No. 7 at IBF No. 9 sa featherweight division si Sonsona.
“I won’t overlook him. The first fight wasn’t easy. I knocked him out but he is a good boxer. I was very dedicated, very motivated in that
fight. I am working hard and I want to win again and do it for my new promoter and my fans,” dagdag ni Vasquez. “I have been training hard al-
ready for this fight. I am almost on weight. In my career I have had ups and downs and now it is time to be up again.”n

“I think the fight that the fans want is Manny and Floyd. That’s what they want to see and they should do it. I have already had four fights with Pacquiao and many people would prefer to see these two opponents face each other in the ring,” ani Marquez.

Spring clean your gadgets
A
recent Stanford University study found that cell phones are 18 times dirtier than toilet handles…ewwww! So give it a good scrub this spring. ............................................................................... There are four rules that you should remember though when cleaning gadgets: First, make sure they are powered down, unplugged or that the batteries have been removed. Second, make sure to never use products that contain harsh chemicals, like ammonia, as they can ruin the special coatings on many screens. Never use window cleaner or other household cleaners. Finally, never spray any liquid directly onto the device. Instead, spray liquid onto a soft cloth, then wipe the device with the cloth. Start with your mobile phone and remote control as these are number 1 germ magnets. These should be covered with fingerprints—
sticky ones when touched by your children. To clean, dampen a soft cloth with water and wipe it down, or use a disposable wipe or soft cloth dampened with cleaning solution made specifically for cleaning electronic screens. You can find these in office and electronic supply stores. Use a cotton swab to get the dirt and grime out of small nooks in the phone. Do the same for the screens on computer monitors, laptops, tablets, eBook readers, and your TV. For the layer of dust and grime on the non-screen parts of these gadgets, simply wipe down with a soft, dry cloth, such as cotton or microfiber.
Keyboards are a hot spot for dust, food crumbs and hair. A can of compressed air will blow dirt from in between the keys, while a soft brush can loosen stuck-on grime. For the keys themselves, wipe them down
with cotton swabs dipped in isopropyl. Or try those gloopy substances like CyberClean to get tough dirt out of hard to reach places on ketpads, keyboards and speakers. Your mouse is another
germ magnet, so you may want to disinfect this every once in a while with a soft cloth damped with ispropyl diluted in water. Both headphones and ear buds are big collectors of dirt and wax, so be sure to give
your pair a little TLC. For headphones, mix a small amount of dish soap into water, then dampen a towel with the solution and wipe the headphones. For ear buds, apply isopropyl alcohol with a cotton swab.n

Thicken your eyebrows
Gumagalang, Janet
Janet, You cannot serve two people at the same time.
Eyebrows define the lines of one’s face especially your eyes. When you thread or pluck your brows, the shape of your eyebrows can change your facial appearance. Some people are fortunate enough to be born with well-defined and shaped brows, while the rest of us have brows that are too thick or too thin. Scanty eyebrows can be attributed to various causes —stress medication, illness, and even genetic disorder. Or sometimes, you had simply plucked them to thin trying to get them into
the right shape. There are many home remedies you can try to help grow eyebrows using all natural ingredients so these are safe for the skin. Apply some cold milk to eyebrows and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash off. Repeat twice everyday for 2 months. Massage eyebrows with olive oil to thicken hair growth. Take care to massage in the same direction as the growth. As a bonus, the existing hair on the brow as well looks darker and softer with this massage. Aloe vera gel is great when used regularly.
Similarly, coconut oil too works magic for hair growth and massages. The same magic works for thickening eyebrows. Soak a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in water for 4 to 5 hours and make a paste. Apply on brows at bedtime. Wash off in the morning. You can also mix almond oil to this paste. Fresh onion juice may be a bit pungent and smelly but it can help with the growth of eyebrows. Apply egg yolk with finger tip or cotton balls on your eyebrows and keep it for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash off.

By: Darlene UY If you are not into home remedies, you may fix your eyebrows cosmetically. Brown eyeliner can be used to darken existing brows. Use small feathery strokes so that the eyebrows look well defined without the painted look. Some women resort to having eyebrows surgically implanted, but these can be painful and expensive.n
12. Siguraduhing malinis ang katawan. Maaa ring magbanlaw muna at magsabon ng katawan bago lumusong sa tubig.n MARITES GREGORIO

Tiny Floating SAFE+ Tsunami Shelters in market
J
apanese company Tajima Motor Corporation just announced the release of their new Floating Tsunami Shelter SAFE+, which was designed for those awaiting rescue in the event of a tsunami. ............................................................................... These tiny modern-day Noah’s Arks have full 180-degree self-righting capability and can fit up to 20 people. In addition to tsunami-related emergencies, the floating pods can be used for a variety of purposes - they can even serve as floating karaoke booths! SAFE+ weights only 1,300 kg (2,866 lbs) and is 6.2 m long, 2.3 m wide and 2.3 m high (20.2 x 7.6 x 7.56 ft). These spacious shelters are roughly the size of a large SUV and come in two models with capacity for 10 and 20 people. Equipped with safety belts, protective seating and a spot for a wheelchair bound person, the pod is meant to stay afloat while waiting for rescue teams. It is accessed either through the main door posi-
tioned above the waterline, or through a roof mounted hatch. The structure is easily transportable and occupies a single car parking space. The basic model can be purchased for $44,000, and the price can go up to $48,000, depending on the amount of additional equipment. It can be outfitted with photovoltaics, child seats, beds and an external generator. Tajima Motor Corporation plans to manufacture 1,000 units by the end of 2014, with more to come next year. According to the company’s press release, the design will soon become open source, which would enable smaller companies to create their own versions.n Source: Inhabitat.com
isa pa! GOD & THE LOTTERY
A blonde woman named Barbara found herself in dire trouble. Her business had gone bust and she was in serious financial trouble. She was so desperate that she decided to ask God for help. She began to pray. “God, please help me. I’ve lost my business and if I don’t get some money, I’m going to lose my house as well. Please let me win the lotto.” Lotto night came and somebody else won. Barbara again prayed. “God, please let me win the lotto! I’ve lost my business, my house and I’m going to lose my car as well.” Lotto night came and Barbara still had no luck. Once again she prayed. “My God, why have you forsaken me? I’ve lost my business, my house and my car. My children are starving. I don’t often ask you for help and I have always been a good servant to you. Please just let me win the lotto this one time so I can get my life back in order.” Suddenly there was a blinding flash of light as the heavens opened and Barbara was confronted by the voice of God himself. “Barbara, you are going to have to meet me halfway on this. Buy a ticket.”
THE FROG PRINCESS
An engineer was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him and said, “If you kiss me, I’ll turn into a beautiful princess.” He bent over, picked up the frog and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, “If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will stay with you for one week.” The engineer took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to the pocket. The frog then cried out, “If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I’ll stay with you and do ANYTHING you want.” Again the engineer took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asked, “What is the matter? I’ve told you I’m a beautiful princess, that I’ll stay with you for a week and do anything you want. Why won’t you kiss me?” The engineer said, “Look I’m an engineer. I don’t have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog, now that’s cool.”

“Comfort women monuments honor the undeniable bravery of survivors of these atrocities and teach future generations that we cannot allow such horrible crimes against women to ever happen again,” said Abigail Rivamonte Mesa, Esq., NFALA CA affiliate and president of
the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California. NFALA also stated that it joins several Asian Pacific American bar associations and civic action groups throughout the country who have issued public statements condemning the federal lawsuit seeking the removal of Glendale Central Park’s comfort women monument and hopes that the judicial system will discern that the federal lawsuit is nothing but a transparent effort to deny the historical fact that hundreds of women and girls from Asia, the Pacific and many other parts of the world, were victims of wartime sex trafficking. NFALA is a national association of Filipino American attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students dedicated to promoting the professional development, interests, and success of Filipino American legal professionals nationwide.n

“Safe flight home. It made my heart happy to cook for you that day & to see you enjoying the little things, even just for a while. Thank you. For everything.” “But forget all that – it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See. I have already begun! Do you not see it?” May shadow photo rin silang dalawa na may caption: “Somewhere Down The Road: Our roads are gonna cross again. It doesn’t really matter when.” Samantala, may sarili ring IG post si Paulo, isang picture ng alcohol beverage na may caption, “Perfect way to end my last night.”

Tom Rodriguez
Close na sina Tom at Carla bago pa man nila ginawa ang “So It’s You” dahil nga nagkatrabaho na sila sa “MHL.” I’m sure they will really take care of her naman.” Bukod kina Tom, Carla at Bangs ay kasama rin sa pelikula sina Kevin Santos, JC de Vera, Joey Marquez, Arlene Mulach at Paulo Ballesteros.n
