The Concerts I Enjoyed in My 16 Days of Deafness Research through Design
A lark took my hearing away for 16 days. It promised me that if I go to a concert each day, I won't lose it forever. I asked:" How can I enjoy them if I can't hear anything?" It opened its beaks and flew away.
Day 1 It was a concert held in a gallery filled with paintings and frames. I guessed the narrative between paintings and the music for the whole time.
Day 2 The concert was pretty triditional. Apart from the fact that I was sitting on stage.
Day 3 Pianos are with wheels, but not in that size. I had a picnic with friends. It's a good idea spending a sunny afternoon outside.
Day 4 Players were playing on scaffolds. An enormous screen was put behind. What a sublime it created!
Day 5 Several boards were put above the players on which pople can lie on. The position reminded me of listening to mp3 on bed.
Day 6 That was a concert on beach. I stood on a close cliff. The movement of players along with waves were dramatic.
Day 7 A performance including choreography and interesting set. I felt involved.
Day 8 Met a band on my train home. I liked how the moving scenary accompanied the show, reminded me of music reading.
Day 9 The players were wrapped in cloth when playing. Quiet amazing how it visualized the tense. Such a relief that they didn't fall.
Day 10 Nothing could be seen in the chamber. What was going on?
Day 11 A concert during sunrise, It was quite emotional when sunlight poured into the room and shadow occured on the floor.
Day 12 It was an empty space with only a woman and a cello. I could imagine that she must be indulgent in her music.
Day 13 2 huge mirrors 90 degree in angle stood on the stage. The scene was mysterious but grand.
Day 14 A small concert was held in my kitchen. I suddenly felt closer to these people, both physically and emotionally.
Day 15 I've always wanted to see a cave. I almost could see the sound of nature.
Day 16 A girl sat on my lap and started singing. She totally mastered the whole show.
