welcome revellers Allow me, on behalf of the Knysna Council, Municipality and all of Greater Knysna to welcome you to the pinkest area on the Garden Route. For the past 17 years Greater Knysna has welcomed the festive atmosphere and colourful atmosphere that revellers of the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras & Arts Festival bring to our area, and believe me, this year’s welcome is no different. Greater Knysna is a natural fit for people in general. It has an energy that emanates from our forests - symbolic of each unique species, similar to our people. Each unique character making up the diverse Greater Knysna that we respect, love and cherish.

Greater Knysna currently finds itself in a water crisis. I therefore call on all to join us in our water saving campaign and help us save this scarce natural resource. From the Knysna Council and the dedicated municipal staff, we wish you all the love and blessings throughout your festival. We look forward with anticipation to another successful Pink Loerie Mardi Gras & Arts Festival. With best wishes for your stay and have a safe journey home. Cllr ELEANORE BOUW-SPIES Executive Mayor of Knysna

Please enjoy your stay in our town, safe in the knowledge that our people and Mother Nature welcome you. We invite you to share her secrets and vast natural beauty with us! Further enjoy what our area has to offer and experience true Greater Knysna that continues to demonstrate its diverse nature and its love of all during this festival. Just before I close off, may I remind you that

On behalf of the Greater Knysna area, a warm “welcome home” to this year’s Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Arts Festival. This is an event we all look forward to every year because it brings colour, unity and a festive vibe to our destination that is refreshing! Our diverse area that is renowned for its natural beauty, estuaries, lakes, forest and beaches, is the ideal host for this year’s festival theme. “Once upon a time, it all started with bears, fairies, princes, princesses, (frogs too), kings and fabulous queens - A modern day LGBTQ+ fairy tale”. The Knysna & Partners board welcomes everyone to share in our modern day fairy tale celebrations. Let our indigenous forests, woods and estuary be your playground to enjoy your time during the festival. Mother Nature welcomes you back home!

an international event on the LGBTQ+ calendar that, attracts visitors globally, to enjoy everything our destination has to offer. Now, let’s head into the woods and be part of this modern day fairy tale that highlight each and everyone’s desire to be treated as equals despite our differences! Glitter kisses from the forest, ELMAY BOUWER Chairman Knysna & Partners Board

As board, we would like to take this time to thank all the event partners who have contributed in growing the event, including Wesgro. One of the key objective of Knysna & Partners is to assist the Pink Loerie Festival organisers to grow visitor attendance to this event and to make this event a priority on the travel trade itineraries during this period. This festival has all the ingredients to become

BETTER LEGROOM

Wesgro is proud to sponsor this year’s Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Arts Festival.

Over the past seventeen years the Festival has grown and become one of Knysna and the Cape’s premier lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) celebrations and significant contributor to the local economy. The inclusion of a social awareness component and workshops on the visibility and representation of often marginalised groups such as black lesbians in this year’s programme comes at a crucial time in a society, and we hope will go a long way to ensure a more representative Festival and promote pride-consciousness. We wish all attendants a wonderful time and best of luck to all the Mr. and Mrs. Gay Mardi Gras Southern Africa entrants. TIM HARRIS Wesgro CEO

A Brief History of Knysna Knysna was at this time a Field-Cornetcy of Plettenberg Bay in the Key Division of George. It was Points We’re supporting 164 Pride Events this year around the world. George Rex left the British Admiralty Court in the Cape, where declared a separate Maghe had practised as a lawyer, after the handover of the Cape to the Batavian Republic and in 1804 bought the loan farm Melk- isterial Division in 1858; houtkraal from the deceased estate of Richard Holiday, who had bounded in the west by a year earlier purchased it from Johann von Lindenbaum. the Swart River, the east George Rex, extending his landholding, bought the farm Eastford, between Grey Street and Salt River and later ceded 80 by the boundaries of the acres (40 morgan) to the Colonial Government on which the Royal Navy laid out the naval township of Melville on the lower Division of Humansdorp, part of the town in 1825, named after Viscount Melville, the 1st north by the Outeniquas Lord of the Admiralty. On the death of George Rex in 1839 his and south by the ocean. properties were put up for sale. Stephanus Jesaias Terblans was the first white settler in the Knysna area. He farmed at Melkhoutkraal, which was established in 1770. Stephanus Terblanche died in 1790 after having Gallotwenty Winery has received a perfect scoreHester in the Human Rights Campaign in 2013 & 2014 as a Best Place to work for LGBT Equality had the loan rights E.for& J.over years. His widow, Marx, stayed on the farm and ran it with the help of her children. Lt. Col. John Sutherland of the Indian Army bought the northern section of Melkhoutkraal during a visit to the Cape in 1844. The village of Newhaven, was surveyed by William Hopley and laid down in 1849. The erven were then offered for sale by John Sutherland, the Colonel’s son.

In 1882 the two villages plus “the wedge”, a triangle of land between the two villages, being the remaining land of the farm Eastford, were amalgamated to form a municipality, known as The Knysna, taking its name from the Knysna River. “Knysna” is a Khoi word meaning “fern”. it’s pink season in “nice, neh?”, again! “It has been wonderful to be part of creating something worthy that is going to make a difference in the lives of so many people.” Some events that come immediately to mind are The Visibility Workshop, Dinner and Concert to raise awareness of hate crimes against vulnerable members of our community, as well as the Medieval Feast and Fundraising Auction, hosted by the dashing Tobi Jooste at Villa Castollini.

We have made very sure that 2017 offers a variety of opportunities for revellers and attendees of the festival to be able to give back to their communities. There are also some things I’m personally excited about. We recently got confirmation from the gay, bi and LGBTQ+ inclusive touch rugby squad, The Jozi Cats, that they will be in attendance this year. The Big Splash hat creation competition at Lakeside Lodge and Spa on the 30th of April sounds like it’s going to be hysterical, and as always, I can’t wait for the annual parade on Saturday the 29th. Every year we face the mammoth task of securing sponsors, and we are so grateful for the brands and businesses that have faithfully stepped up to the plate year after year. It’s always fantastic to see how perceptions of these brands and companies become elevated by the community members that attend the festival. Maybe you could step up and align your brand with this opportunity to target relatively affluent captive market?

tinue growing, and in turn, be able to provide more opportunities for locals, entrepreneurs, artists and performers, as well as creating new ways to give generously to our communities that need it most. If you’d like to be a part of that vision, please contact us via our contact details on the website www.pinkloeriefoundation .com / email info@pinkloeriefoundation.com or donate directly at www.payfast.co.za/donate/go/pinkloeriefoundation It’s never easy organising an event like this. It involves trying to keep many “discerning” people happy, and securing sponsorship from various sources to be able to make all this glamour and fabulosity take shape. I look forward to watching you have a spectacular time and feel the bonus satisfaction of sharing generously with those who truly need it. As a parting note I would like to thank everyone involved that helped make this year’s event possible. Happy Festival!

KNYSNA The beautiful town of Knysna, situated 73kms from the George airport, is situated within 157 000 hectares of the proclaimed Garden Route National Park. It is nestled between the shores of the pristine Knysna estuary, Indian Ocean and thousands of hectares of beautiful indigenous forest, home to a myriad of wild- and birdlife as well as the famed Cape fynbos. Knysna is synonymous with its magnificent oysters, and visitors can explore its natural beauty through mountain biking and hiking trails, whale watching and boating charters. A wide variety of accommodation is available all year round. The town offers three magnificent golf courses. Simola Golf Course, designed by Jack Nicklaus (The Golden Bear), Pezula Champion Golf Course and Knysna Golf Course all lie within 6kms of the town’s centre. Bordering on the Pezula Estate the historic Noetzie offers real castles, a sandy beach and fascinating bird watching.

SEDGEFIELD The quaint coastal town of Sedgefield, first Citaslow accredited town in Africa and the slow-town of Naturally Knysna, is surrounded by a magnificent coastal lake-system and five sandy beaches along the Indian Ocean shoreline. Sedgefield has abundant fishing, kayaking, bird-watching, paragliding, suerfing and safe swimming areas. Besides the natural beauty that surrounds this tranquil village, Sedgefield’s Saturday markets showcase the wealth of its talen and organic oods produced by the close-knit farming community.

KARATARA Karatara, situated 27.8kms from Knysna and 22.6kms from Sedgefield is steeped in rich history dating back to 1939 when the indigenous forests were closed to local woodcutters. The then government provided housing to these ousted woodcutters and Karatara was born. As with many historic South African towns, the spindle of the Dutch Reformed Church stands as a beacon, welcoming visitors to share in the history of this village. The beautiful Outeniqua Mountain Range forms a perfect backdrop to this rural village. When gold was discovered in the Karatara River in 1875 Thomas Bain was tasked with providing a route to accommodate the ensuing gold rush. Bain engineered the beautiful Homtini Pass when the Homitini Gorge needed to be crossed by the many prospectors. Today this magnificent pass still amazes all who pass through it. Travelling from Karatara it curls to the bottom for 2.5kms before rising through dense indigenous forest. An absolute must for the traveller, be it by bicycle, motorcycle, horse, foot or motor-vehicle. 12

BUFFELS BAY Buffels Bay, better known to many as Buffalo Bay, is situated 21.2kms from Knysna and 23.3kms from Sedgefield within the beautiful 2 500 hectare Goukamma Nature Reserve. It is home to the special protected Oyster Catchers, which nests on the expansive white sandy beaches. These beaches are safe for swimming, surfing, kayaking and other water-sports. The beautiful rock pools around this grassy peninsula lends itself perfectly to snorkelling. Buffels Bay has two beaches, one that stretches West to Sedgefield and beyond. The other beach leads to Brentonon-Sea to the East. While walking along these you are bound to see dolphins playing in the surf and, during the season, whales frolicking just beyond the breakers. Hikers can enjoy several walks beginning in Buffels Bay. Several include the experience of crossing the Goukamma River by pont. The magnificent circular bush Pig Trail meanders inland up and along dunes, through pristine coastal forest down to the sea. This trail then doubles back, ending with the pont crossing the Goukamma River.

RHEENENDAL Rheenendal, a short scenic 12km drive West of Knysna, showcases both the magnificent Knysna Estuary and Outeniqua Mountain views. The area is rich with green pastures, indigenous forests, vacated mine shafts, crafters and artists. The area is further known for its wonderful biodiversity of flora and fauna on the many walking trails. Many famous and talented artists have made Rheenendal their home. The recently established Rheenendal Ramble allows visitors to experience art and several home industries established along the route. Experience the nostalgia of yesteryear and stay overnight in one of the renovated Rheenendal Woodcutters Forest Cottages. Exploring the Materolli Museum will certainly take you back to the Millwood Goldfield Gold Rush of 1876. Wander through the ghost town of the Old Millwood Mining Village and see the restored Bendigo mining equipment.

BRENTON-ON-SEA Brenton-on-Sea, 13.8kms from Knysna and 71.7kms from the George Airport derived its name from Sir Jahleel Brenton, who declared Knysna a harbour in 1818. This area is home to the endangered Brenton Blue butterfly. It lies behind the majestic Western Knysna Head and is virtually encircled by the Goukamma Nature Reserve with its fynbos filled slopes. Brenton-on-Sea’s Blue Flag accredited beach enables visitors to safely walk while enjoying the natural beauty of the area. As in Buffels Bay, dolphins can often be seen surfing the waves while whales frolic in the bay. - Credit Fran Kirsten (OUT THERE) 13

The History of Thesen Islands Thesen Islands is steeped in the history of the Southern Cape. It is situated in the midst of the tranquil waters of one of the richest ecological estuaries in South Africa – home to the rare and endangered Knysna sea horse – hippocampus capensis.

Legend has it that the San – or Bushmen – were the earliest inhabitants of the island. Later, settlers made the area their home, drawn by the rich indigenous forests where herds of the famous Knysna elephant roamed. The island became known as Paarden Island – ‘Horse Island’ The name Thesen has its origins in faraway Norway. In July 1869, Arndt Leonard Thesen, a prominent timber merchant from Stavanger in Norway left his hometown with is wife and nine children, planning to start a new life in New Zealand.

After their ship, the Albatros, ran into difficulties near Cape Town, Arndt Thesen decided to stay on in South Africa. The Thesens settled in the picturesque town of Knysna, surrounded by indigenous forests, where they started a timber trading company. In 1904 his son Charles Wilhelm Thesen bought Paarden Island, located in the Knysna River estuary. In 1922 he established a timber processing plant on the island, which soon became known as Thesen Island.

In 1991 Dr. Chris Mulder, a South African environmental engineer who received his doctorate in environmental design in Houston, USA, proposed a complete redevelopment of the island into a unique residential marina.

In the early 1980s Barlows, one of South Africa’s industrial conglomerates, purchased the island and its timber treatment plant from Thesen and Company. Barlows soon realized that the timber processing activities could not be continued on this island located in the midst of such a scenic and eco-sensitive lagoon. At the same time there was growing community concern about the environmental and industrial pollution caused by the factory’s activities. As a result the plant’s doors were finally closed. In the ensuing years the abandoned derelict buildings, machinery and waste dumps increasingly turned into an eyesore and a health hazard.

As the Knysna River estuary is one of the most sensitive ecosystems in the country and a major tourism attraction, the development of Thesen Islands called for extremely careful and sensitive planning covering ecological, architectural, engineering, aesthetic, social and cultural criteria. After eight years of research and planning by Dr. Mulder and his team, approval was finally granted in December 1998 - but with over one hundred strict and complex conditions. In all, ten years passed from initial concept to final approval, involving twenty-five alterations to the master plan! Source: www.thesenisland.co.za

p o o f ! but not a disappearing act! By Bruce J. Little AKA, The Little Poof!

We all know the story of the magician who makes rabbits disappear into his top hat with a “poof” of smoke. Well, I can assure you that this Little Poof! is not planning on making any such exit. “Killie jouhierenkilliejoudaar, ensie’daar!” In 2009, I attended my first ever Joburg Pride and was lucky enough to be invited on a float. As we trundled merrily along Jan Smuts Avenue, I saw a whole bunch of heteronormative, cisgender families (in other words typical and seemingly not Queer) on their balconies holding up placards. I was fully expecting those home-made signs to say things like: “God hates gays!”, or the equally welcoming: “Repent sinners!” But they didn’t. As we drove gingerly by, I saw that read, simply: “We Love You!” I was moved and at the same time, inspired. I wanted to do something to commemorate that moment. I decided to write a show that would showcase, celebrate and shed light on LGBTQ+ issues. I wanted to make something that would help people learn something as they had a good laugh. I was also unemployed at the time and desperately in need of work, and so I created my own. And so, the first Little Poof! Homofabulous Show was born, to premiere at the gorgeous Zietsie’s “Glaskas” Theatre in Brixton in 2010. It was indeed a good year for the 34

Soccer World Cup tagline: “KeYona!” The time had come, for me too. The shows developed a life of their own, and in the blink of an eye, I had five years and four original shows as well as three incredible accompanists under the belt. The Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Arts Festival came to be a yearly gig that was soon synonymous with my stock characters, ThandawamiTokoloshe, Shinaaz and Mariska, the reluctant fag hag. The straight (and sexy) barmen at Zanzibar also came to be very dear and protective friends during those amazing years, which inspired another article I wrote for Mambaonline (In Praise of Straight Men). But all was not as glam and fab as it seemed on the surface. The shows would sell out and get rave reviews, but we made little to no profit, and eventually, the shows began to cost me money. So, I hung up my puppet, wigs and costume rail for three years to sort out my career and my bank balance. Fast forward to the present, this Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Arts Festival I had hoped for a comeback, and the organisers and I applied to several organisations for funding. We were sure that at least one would come through, but as the Festival drew nearer and nearer we heard nothing; I decided to pull the plug be-

cause my amazing Director and talented young accompanist had to be paid, and I could not be sure there would be money to do so. I could afford to do the show for free, but they needed to be available to find other paying gigs during that time. I always say, “Exposure doesn’t help your career, it’s what happens to you when you get left out in the cold.” So, we couldn’t bring a show to this year’s festival, sadly. But we could publish a collection of the most popular monologues from the previous shows (in collaboration with Junkets), which you will be able to get your hands on and keep forever. The booklet is called Little Poof! The Homonologues. This at least is something that brings joy to my heart, despite the disappointment. Rest assured, though, Mariska, Thandawami and all the other characters in my head are not going quietly, and the Pink Loerie Festival organisers and I still have a few tricks up our sleeves. Who knows? We may even have an exciting announcement to make soon if we get the green light from a potential investor with whom we’ve been chatting. Please hold thumbs for us! Big Love, from The Little Poof!

Always The Princess... By Vida Fantabisher

Third time lucky. That’s what everyone says, right? Well, it has certainly been true for me, especially regarding Miss Mardi Gras. It was always a goal of mine to enter and win Miss Mardi Gras. It was the one title I always wanted. So in 2014, two years after I started performing in Drag, I entered the pageant, and I lost. I was 1st Princess. I thought to myself, if I enter again, I could probably win. So I entered again. And I lost again. I was 1st Princess, once again. At this point, I had resigned myself to the fact that my motto would be, “Always the Princess, never the Queen”.

regularly. One of the highlights of 2016 for me was performing at the Artscape Opera House.

So in 2016, I entered again, but this time I had no expectations. I knew I was probably not going to win, so I only participated because I was going to be at the Pink Loerie Festival anyway, and to have fun with the other contestants during the competition. Then it happened, I won. I won the pageant! I was thrilled. I was finally Miss Mardi Gras, and I didn’t realise that something like this could feel so validating.

I’ve grown so much as a person, and also as an artist since winning the title of Miss Mardi Gras. The crowning moment was one that will stay with me for a very long time. I encourage anyone who is considering entering the pageant, just to do it. It is a remarkable experience just being there and making new friends with other queens from all around the country. It is a really good way of broadening your horizons while having a great time doing it.

In the year that has passed, the title has opened so many doors for me. In addition to having it add some weight to my name as a Drag Artist, the performance opportunities have been endless. I do shows very

In addition to that, I am currently busy with my Master’s Degree, which has a strong focus on the aesthetics of drag. It has always been a passion of mine to educate the mainstream on what drag is. There are still so many people who don’t understand it, and in turn, don’t view it as a legitimate art form. I also give drag makeup classes for those who want to learn the craft, as well as add to their existing makeup skills.

I would like to express my gratitude to the organisations involved for the immense honour it has been being Miss Mardi Gras 2016. I will never forget it.

Mr. Gay Mardi Gras Southern Africa 2016 By aleXander Steyn

Last year was my first time at the Pink Loerie Festival but definitely not my last. The absolute joy, fun and friendliness of the Knysna people and all the visitors truly transform this beautiful little coastal town into a fabulous pink host of parties and festivities! The people of Knysna are a formidable example of acceptance and love. One of the highlights of my visit last year was meeting the (then) wonderful Mayor of Knysna - Georlene Wolmarans. What a beautiful soul. Through her eyes, I could see why this town is so open to our pink blood and open to anyone who doesn’t necessarily fit in just anywhere.

What a year this has been! It feels like only yesterday that I was driving into Knysna not knowing what the few pink days here at the Pink Loerie Festival would hold for this Free State boytjie. Little did I know, that I would walk away with the title of Mr. Gay Mardi Gras Southern Africa 2016?

Spending time with my fellow contestants was also filled with lots of fun, laughter and magical moments. Although it was also very stressful at times due to grueling interviews, an intense photoshootchallenge and the gala event on the final night. Mr. Gay Mardi Gras Southern Africa 2016 was to replace the old title of Mr. Gay South Africa, hence all the extra challenging new elements. One of these was a written test about general knowledge concerning the LGBTQ+ commu-

nity in South Africa and the rest of the world, as well as the history of the Pink Loerie Festival and Knysna itself. Good thing that God blessed this moffie with a brain as well! #lol The nail-biting gala event was full of rushed costume changes backstage, drag queens falling off stages and flat screen TV’s crashing to the floor. We had to run up and down stairs to get changed, passing lethal obstacles like hot GHD’s, makeup brushes, eye-lash curlers and swinging mascara brushes due to the Miss. Mardi Gras event that was taking place at the same time. It was loads of fun! The final question to be answered on stage was probably the most stressful moment for me, but I luckily remembered all my Mom’s advice from growing up and taking part in Public Speaking at school! “Maakoogkontakenprojekteer, my kind!” Thank you, mother! And thank you to all the organisers of the Pink Loerie Festival and the Mr. Gay Mardi Gras Event!

Mr. Gay World Southern Africa By aleXander Steyn

All I ever want in my life is to give 100 percent, to commit 100 percent and to love 100 percent. Not to take anything or anyone for granted, and to always thank those who helped me on my journey.

talking to the homophobic co-worker or ‘tannie’ at church. Be the change! Make people aware of us and the fact that we too deserve to be loved and accepted into society and especially the church.

What a roller-coaster ride this year has been so far. Being the current Mr. Gay World Southern Africa and Mr. Gay Mardi Gras Southern Africa is such a privilege and an honour.

That’s why I started the NPO last year namely #loveALL. That is my heart, and that is the message I will take this year with me to Mr. Gay World 2017 in Madrid 5-9 May.

#mrgwsa

I wanted this year to be filled with moments of giving. Moments where I go beyond myself and give my time and energy to causes that make a difference. It’s so easy to put money in someone’s hand, but I believe that it’s quite a different story to give your time and energy to someone who desperately needs it. I make this statement because it’s something that lies very close to my heart. ‘World Peace’??? Uhm, no dear…. it starts with giving your time and love to those who need it. In January, I became a foster parent to two boys who desperately needed that time and love, which had never been given to them in the past. I hate it when people look down on a sash and immediately assume that the intentions behind it are self-serving. Yes, that may be the case for some, but my philosophy in life is to use what comes your way for the better good of society. Don’t get me wrong, I also want world peace, but it starts with the people close to you. The people in your city or town or neighbourhood. When I won this title, I had so many plans and aspirations, but soon realised how many people could still say ‘no’ and not care. Yes, I believe with all my body and soul what Reinhold Niebuhr said: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. BUT we all seem to only read the first part…we don’t focus on the ‘courage to change the things I can’. We can change things…even if it’s just

Hello my darling angels… well, some of you are angels! By Betty Bangles

I cannot believe it is time again for us to flock to Knysna for the 17th annual Pink Loerie Mardi Gras and Arts Festival. My feet still hurt from last year’s street parade! I think we can all agree that last year’s festival was a bunch of fun, with sprinkles on! Well, this year will be no different. In fact, we might just have sparkles with the sprinkles at this year’s event!

This year will also see the third chapter of Wigstock! There will be daily drag shows performed by some of the best. The “Queens of Wigstock” for 2017 are Jett Joans, Charné Churchill, Olivia Mae, Victoria Styles and yours truly. We will entertain you and have you on the floor with laughter, during these daily drag shows. In the evenings, we will be your hosts at Zanzibar for a little bit of a party. Little? Oh, who am I kidding! We will probably all have to crawl out by the end of the night! I’m sure everybody knows by now that

Priscilla Queen of the Desert FINALLY parked the infamous pink bus on the Teatro stage at Montecasino and Artscape in Capetown. OMG!!!!!!! I am beyond excited. Of course, I couldn’t help myself and went for an audition, and they actually offered me a part………….to play the bus! I politely declined. Anyone who knows me can confirm that I am slightly more obsessed with musical theatre than the average gay person. To give you an idea: I have seen CATS 109 times, Phantom of the Opera 7 times, Mamma Mia 9 times and the list goes on and on! So you can imagine the excitement that is brewing in me for my upcoming trip to Broadway in New York City where I will see the divine Bette Midler in Hello Dolly. Apart from a few other Broadway shows, I am also very excited to see Cher and Celine Dion in Las Vegas! I wonder if Cher will miss a wig or two? God knows I won’t fit in her “Turn back time” outfit! 2017 is going to be MY year! I can finally reveal that I have my own reality TV show! The show follows me as I help three drag princesses to transform into worthy queens! The final episode will see the three queens braving the stage in the Miss Mardi Gras competition. Will one of them possibly take the crown? Tune in on the 7th July 2017 for the premiere of “Betty Bangles” on Via TV channel

147. I hope that with this show we can show South Africa that drag queens are normal human beings and that drag is an art form. I also hope it will bring the drag community closer together. When I think back to when I started doing drag, I remember a sense of family. I think of queens like Nomi Perron, Miss B, Sizzling Sue, Sally Selacious to name a few. They were sisters but most of all mentors! These days I feel like it is every queen for herself. We need to come together again as one big happy GAY family! We can’t ask people to accept who we are if we do not accept each other! Until then, let’s try to make the world a better place by smiling when we pass a stranger. But, if he starts to follow you, kick him and run! Keep Shining! Betty Bangles.
