Marikina City, Marso 2, 2013– Isinagawa ang Blessing ng Head Quarter ng C2G2 na matatagpuan sa 109 Bayanbayanan Ave. Marikina Heights, Marikina City bilang bahagi ng paghahanda para sa darating na Halalan 2013.

a lugar na ito ang sentrong lunsaran ng aktibidad ng Marikina City Election Watch 2013 tulungang proyektong panghalalan ng Citizens’ Congress for Good Governance (C2G2) at National Citizens' Movement for Free Election (NAMFREL), kasama ang Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE). Ang mga pangunahing aktibidad ng Marikina Election Watch 2013 ay Voters Education para sa mamamayan ng Marikina, grupo, sector ng pamayanan. arch 4, 2013- C2G2 Head Quarter at 109 Isasagawa din ang Mobile watching kung saan ang diin ng pagmamanman ay hindi lamang sa loob ng mga presinto sa Bayanbayanan Ave., Marikina Heights, mismong araw ng botohan, bagkus ay magmamanman sa Marikina City. labas ng mga presinto na magsisimula sa mismong araw ng Ginanap ang Voters Education strategic planning kampanya sa local na halalan. Random Manual Audit sa pagitan ng Citizens’ Congress for Good Governance (RMA) ay isang proseso ng Automated Election System (C2C2) at Legal Network for Truthful Elections (LENTE). Mula sa pahina 1 Elections (LENTE), Coalition Against Corruption (CAC); Office of the Ombudsman; and, COMELEC, C2G2 has scheduled almost daily at least one Voters Education Seminar, which is locally called "Electoral Community Forum". With the help of a "mobile stage" equipped with complete and latest gadgetry, courtesy of one of it's board members, C2G2, with the help of the different local communities and different sectors can now penetrate even the innermost part of every barangay in Marikina. But, it is not a bed of roses all the way. C2G2 is encountering some problems along the way. One of these problems was "Apathy" of the people, Since this is the first time this is happening in the City, people are receiving this effort with indifference. C2G2 received comments like, "what's the use...all candidates are the same. They promised everything but do nothing". “We thought, he is a nice person, but later on, we heard that he was involved in corruption, Sayang, cute pa naman, pero ang sama pala ng ugali!, Sayang lang ang ginagawa ng C2G2, hindi na mawawala ang corruption sa bayan natin". And many, many more similar comments. The officers of C2G2 have heard these comments many times in the past, this is why C2G2 has embarked in this kind of undertaking. We know that it is just a matter of educating and informing the people. We firmly believed that "Knowledge is Power and Ignorance destroys the People." There is a need to empower the people with the right information and knowledge. To inform the people that they have rights and privileges as citizens of Marikina. That they can ask questions and be involved in governing their City. That they need not be afraid of any local government officials because the people are the boss, that it is their taxes that pay the salaries of these officials.

PUBLIC APPEAL TO THE PEOPLE OF MARIKINA BY: Bishop Benedicto Navarro
T
oday, the campaign of all the local candidates start. You will experience the barrage of all sorts of campaign material, jingles, leaflets, posters, tarpaulins, etc., there is nothing wrong in all of these. Candidates are just exercising their their rights to campaign' and, as long as they are following all the rules of the COMELEC about how they can conduct their campaigning, we have no problem with that. The problem is with us, Citizens of Marikina. How are we going to accept these barrage of promises coming from all these candidates? Are we just going to accept all what they say... what they promise; or, analyze, think and be wise enough to realize the truth from lies in what they say. Let us realize that nobody can hold office unless the Citizens of Marikina elect them to office. If the Citizens of Marikina commit the mistake of choosing the wrong candidates, then we all suffer. We suffer for the the next three years, or even six, or worst, the beginning of a dynasty that we will all regret for a long long time. Remember, we deserve the kind of government by the people we elect into office. Selling your vote is selling the future of your children. Pity our children. They deserve a better tomorrow. Let us dream good dreams for them. Let us dream of the best school: better equip, big and beautiful campus, top notch professors that teach the right and godly values.
That complaints of the people must be heard and duly acted upon the fastest way they can. That government officials have no right to sleep on their job. They have no right to steal and use the money of the people for their personal gain and conveniences.
Let us dream of a healthy environment where they can grow, hospitals, medicines and good doctors. Let us dream of companies and enterprises where they can work; or better still, where they can compete intellectually and their skills can be put to good use not only in our City but the country as a whole.
That everything that they do must be transparent because they will have to account for everything to their boss, the Citizens of Marikina.
Let us love our City...let us love our country. It is the only one we've got. And besides, it was God who gave it to us
C2G2 cannot do all these things alone. It has no power to carry the entire burden of the citizenry. We need your help. Gather your people and call us, we will be there to conduct the Forum. Help us with whatever way you can. The fight against ignorance, graft and corruption; and, poverty is not only for C2G2..it must be the fight of the people.
Let us put this dreams to reality...the dream starts now. Your ONE VOTE matters. They will be counted. Your one vote will be part of the hundreds of thousands of votes in Marikina that will spell three years of misery or three years of decent life. THE CHOICE IS OURS! ###
