“From Data to Art” is a collaboration between Elisava’s Master’s Degree in Industrial Design Engineering (MEDI) and IDEAL Centre d’arts Digitals de Barcelona.

“The Dark Cloud” is a project whose aim is to make visible the environmental impact of our digital interaction. Through research, analysis and data visualisation with Processing, we have calculated this impact in terms of CO2 emanation by concept of use and screen time, energy consumption and sources of electrical generation, in order to visualise this impact.
The visualisation consists of the journey of the bits and the representation that breaks the paradigm of the immateriality of virtuality through the graphic visualisation of the amount of CO2 emitted by each interaction and its cumulative amount.
