This collection of photographs was created between 2000-2009 in the Kato Meri of Tinos, a group of Catholic villages in the central eastern part of the island. A Humble Paradise pays tribute to a rural lifestyle that is gradually disappearing, unnoticed, in Tinos, across the Cyclades, and throughout Greece. These images depict the geometry of the terraced hills, the stunning simplicity of the local architecture, the humanity and tenderness of the farmers, and their poetic coexistence with their animals; most importantly, the photographs look to the future, beckoning the viewer to preserve the beauty of this handmade, majestic landscape.
