WELCOME This second edition of our Look Book highlights some of the year’s biggest colour trends and how our lighting has both drawn inspiration from, and tied in with these developments. We have also been delighted to have supplied lighting for some breathtaking interiors including some of the world’s most prestigious hotels such as The Sheraton Park Lane Hotel, London and Angama Mara Resort, Kenya. A number of new lighting designs have also recently been unveiled. These include beautiful additions to our Signature lighting collection. We also revisit our latest product range; ‘The Zoffany Collection’.

COLOUR TRENDS LONDON FASHION WEEK The sixty-third edition of London Fashion Week (LFW) returned to Brewer Street from 19th – 23rd February 2016. The event featured eighty-three designers showcasing AW16 collections to UK and international press and buyers across five days. We feature some of the highlights from the event along with a selection of our lighting designs to perfectly complement this year’s featured colour palettes.

HILLAIRE The Hillaire range of mould blown glass table lamps features three muted, organic colour tones, Smoke, Slate, and Olive, that perfectly complement the understated and elegant blue and green tones in the collection opposite. SALERNO The Salerno ceramic table lamp draws inspiration from iconic 1950’s geometric sculptures, resulting in an intricate, yet elegant arrangement of bold, clean lines that creates a striking, symmetrical form. The geometric detailing and monochromatic colour palette echoes the shown collection from designer Holly Fulton.

COLOUR TRENDS LUXURIOUS METALLICS Metallics have been one of the most significant recent interior trends. Last year, interiors blog ‘Freshome’ commented “The breakout star of 2016 is going to be metallics, and, given their ability to instantly bring a sophisticated and glamorous touch to any space, it’s not hard to see why. Whether adding a sleek touch with silver or chrome or warming a room with gold, rose gold or copper, every school of design can benefit from this trend”. Here we focus on a selection of our paired Nickel and Gold designs, utilising two of the most timeless and elegant metallic tones.

PROJECTS THE SHERATON PARK lane HOTEL, LONDON A renowned Art Deco hotel founded in the 1920s, the Sheraton Park Lane is situated in the heart of the capital, a short distance from landmarks such as Buckingham Palace and Green Park. Heathfield & Co were delighted to work alongside designers MKV Design in supplying a number of bespoke lighting pieces including bathroom pendants and mirrored floor lamps.

COLOUR TRENDS DULUX’S TREND FORECAST 2016 “The design age is dawning” argues Dulux Australia. “We desire the unique, the bespoke, the individual – seeking products that will add a sense of luxury and distinction to our lives. A new industry of customisation is being created by the makers, the designers, the creators – producing handcrafted products that connect with us and focus on the importance of design more than ever before”. To celebrate the dawn of the Design Age, Dulux has carefully selected influential makers to create bespoke products, each representing one of the four trends of the Dulux Colour Trends 2016. The four trends; ‘Future Past’, ‘Bio Fragility’, ‘Retro Remix’ and ‘Infinite Worlds’, present a diverse and contemporary colour palette. Explore these key trends for 2016 alongside our accompanying lighting selections.

FUTURE PAST Future Past takes its cues from steampunk merging with modern design â&#x20AC;&#x201C; creating a new version of the old. Deep and decadent traditional hues are made modern. Minimalism has no place here â&#x20AC;&#x201C; rooms are filled with heirlooms and new collections that create a look that is luxurious and detailed; craftsmanship is valued with an eclectic edge influenced by the industrial age.

BIO FRAGILITY Bio Fragility is inspired by natural and living matter â&#x20AC;&#x201C; flesh tones, lichen, moss and stone influence the subtle hues of the palette which are derived from chalky brittle elements rather than soft textures.

RETRO REMIX Retro remix celebrates the lighter aspects of the new retro movement where experimentation in colour combinations leads to acid brights clashing with faded muddied colours such as browns and olive greens. This theme explores a more youthful expression, with new generations discovering these influences for the first time and creating their own remixed style.

COLOUR TRENDS CALICO LAUNCHES FASHION LINE Calico are predominantly known for their luxury wallpapers that draw upon marbling techniques and influences from Japanese and Turkish arts. However, through collaboration with fashion brands ‘Swords-Smith’ and ‘Print All Over Me’, Calico has now launched its own beautiful fashion line featuring elegant and vibrant colour tones. We present some of the highlights from this new line along with our lighting picks that provide the perfectly complementary colour tones.

The elegant teals incorporated into Calico’s fashion range are complemented by a number of designs from Heathfield & Co’s ‘Signature’, ‘Zoffany’ and ‘Hotel’ lighting collections. The Pigalle Ocean and Coupole table lamps, from the Signature and Hotel lighting collections respectively, closely echo the mid tone teals utilised in Calico’s designs. Additionally, the Novella Antique Bronze and Caius Mineral table lamps, from the Zoffany Collection, provide the ideal accompaniments to the darker and lighter teal tones.

COLOUR TRENDS ellen o’neill, BENJAMIN MOORE Benjamin Moore recently revealed its ‘Colour of the Year’ and trend colours for 2016. One of the key figures behind the selection process of these colours is Ellen O’Neill, Benjamin Moore’s Creative Director. Ellen discusses choosing ‘Simply White’ as the Colour of the Year and the most effective accompanying picks from Heathfield & Co’s Signature range.

What led you to choose ‘Simply White’ as your colour of the year for 2016? “As ‘insiders’ in a premiere paint company, the Colour Team fields customer’s paint questions as part of the process of simplifying the colour conundrum. White is the colour that provokes the most questions – people are obsessed with white, its symbolism, its iconography, its behaviour. White is a design essential, a necessity. We elected to give white the recognition it deserves and select it as Colour of the Year.

During our research, we noticed the preponderance of high chroma colours, especially Yves Klein Blue, a close match to our Patriot Blue 2064-20. We felt the pairing of these colors with white was an energetic option for using white especially in modern design schemes.

The trend colours for 2016 also feature some vibrant selections such as ‘Ravishing Red’, ‘Banana Yellow’, ‘Patriot Blue’ and ‘Royal Flush’. What led you to incorporate these shades into the trend selection for 2016?

It’s been mentioned how effective using white can be in an interior when combined with varying shades. Would you recommend combining ‘Simply White’ with other white tones from the 2016 trend colours? I think my favorite white layer is depicted on the cover of our Colour Trends 2016 colour card. We layered Simply White OC-117 with Ballet White OC-9, Mascarpone AF-20 and Paper White OC-55, creating a seamless, soft, romantic environment.

Which Heathfield & Co lighting designs would you chose to pair with your trend colours? I would select the Derwent Rectangular ceiling fixtures to emphasise the white-on-white story. The tripod antique oak floor lamp is the perfect fixture for our white-on-wood story, illustrating how organic materials warm up whites.The Dakota line of table lamps in any metallic finish also provides an attractive palette of lampshade colours that would coordinate well with our 2016 color palette.

projects THE WOBURN HOTEL BEDFORDSHIRE The Woburn Hotel, part of the beautiful Woburn Estate in Bedforshire, boasts four AA stars and has fifty-five bedrooms with several cottage suites. Designers Trevillion Interiors were responsible for the design of the hotelâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s public areas, as well as eight feature guest-rooms and six courtyard rooms.
