Over the span of the summer of 2011 I’ve been documenting the life of a talented neo-soul singer and songwriter that goes by the name of Brendan Phillip. He’s got a girlfriend named Asia and three year old son named Harlow. All of the images were taken in and around Toronto, Canada.

Riveting conversation about music careers in Southern Ontario in comparison to the US. Financial support is much more attainable to young pristine talent with the ability to exhibit potential through hard work. Brendan expresses for the first time his plans on moving to New York to further his career.

Brendan performs with his fellow artists involved in the 88 Days music collective in collaboration Granny Boots {a monthly music show held at the Gladstone Hotel on Queen + Dufferin.}. This date also marks the collectives’ two year anniversary. The following photographs were taken the night of the celebratory event.

Thursday July 7th

Fellow photographer and filmmaker Sid Singh and I worked on Brendan + Asias promo video for collab show * on the 16th of July. We then headed off to an artist friend’s birthday party at a local lounge. We arrived an hour late. At 8pm.

The couple decided to combine talents and put together a show that included a jewelry showcase and auction from Asia’s jewelry line, as well as a farewell performance and album listening party for Brendan.
Paris
Surprisingly young and extremely talent poet and vocalist turns 17 today on July 7th 2011. And celebrates with her close friends and fellow artists.
