(I knew) when his dad brought him to the ice and put the skates on his feet for the first time. At that moment we both said to each other, ‘He’ll be a great player one day.’ We saw it right way. NATALIA MALKIN through an interpreter, June 26, 2004 Courtesy: Dave Molinari, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Evgeni Malkin burst onto the NHL scene in 2006, scoring goals in each of his first six games (seven goals total). He became the first player to accomplish that feat in 89 years, joining a trio of Hall of Famers - Joe Malone, Cy Denneny and Newsy Lalonde - who accomplished the feat in the first season of the NHL in 1917-18.
