Conduct research when necessary.

Make sure all facts are accurate.

Learn and apply the rules of written English.

Revise and edit their material to make it the best it can be.

Are persistent in completing their writing no matter how difficult.

Enjoy reading as part of their quest for knowledge, as well as for entertainment and a means to see how other writers construct their material. Have favorite authors, whose work they admire.
