Study based on Vctor Site Analysis 2021
Issue 1
Lack of communal ground around the site for the youth and elderly to interact and participate
Breaks the barriers of social participation which leads to generation segregation.
Issue 2
Poor visual linkage between pedestrian movement and transit transportation
Presence of multiple transit transports around the site create multiple bridges and walkways to connect one another which resulted visual blockage and aesthetic unpleasing experience to the people.
Issue 3
Poor design and undeveloped Pekeliling Bus Terminal
Pekeliling Bus Terminal which happens to be one of the oldest bus terminals in Malaysia are no longer able to fulfil the needs and requirement of a modern day’s bus terminal.
crossing over of weaknesses to become one’s strength
What kind of proposal is required to support one another ?
Can the place synergize aesthetic pleasing while promoting social and economic participation between generation as well as reconfiguring Pekeliling Bus Terminal to meet future demand ?
?

Ground floor consists of three main spaces which is the urban park, market hall and town bus pick-up & drop-off area, from left to right. With an open ground plan, it creates a strong connection and transparency between the building, Sungai Gombak and the surrounding site. Services area are located at the far right corner of the site, masked by greenery.
Ground Urban Park
Presence of green plants in urban park creates a sense of inviting to people from the surrounding site and improve pedestrian liveliness around the site.
Ground Urban Park
Consists of not only park seating, but also allow busking, cycling, skating and dancing activities to occur.
Drop-Off Lobby located in between the Urban Park and Market Hall
Easy accessible to the users to reach their destination with the shortest footprint.
Town Bus Drop-Off & Pick-Up Area
Only applicable for daily commute within Kuala Lumpur for a quick drop-off and pick-up.
The initial existing Pekeliling Bus Terminal is relocated to the first basement level with a new reconfigured plan, separating the indoor- passengers boarding area and outdoor- bus parking area.
Pekeliling Bus Terminal Passenger Boarding Area
Separating the passenger boarding area from bus parking area helps to provide a better boarding experience to the passengers and ensure a smoother bus operation system.
Two level of basement carparks are provided in order to cater the parking requirement.
First floor level is easily accessible for people coming from Titiwangsa LRT and MRT stations. Bicycle parking lot and ramp access located next to the elevated green park are provided for cyclist in the city. This level is acting as a buffer level for users who are enjoying their events on the ground floor to come up to rest and eat. Multiple voids are created, giving the market hall and drop-off lobby below a double volume effect.

Titiwangsa Monorail Station
View from the Elevated Urban Park Presence of semi and open spaces ensures visual continuity across the building and visual connection between people from different levelling.
Second floor and third floor are the levels where it adjoin intergeneration together sharing the needs, interests and learning opportunities. An elderly day care centre and child day care centre are proposed to cater kids and elderly who have no activities to do and no one to take care of during the day.
