Hello!
My name is Plamena and I was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. I have graduated Interior Design at the UAL (University of the Arts London) where I was actively involved in the Students Union's campaign actions and activities. Being inspired by the Italian culture and creativity, I am currently completing a Master degree in Interior and Living Design at Domus Academy in Milan. Constantly wandering and exploring I find inspiration in everyday life.

Wapping Project
01
Brief: Design an office, which will allow a series of work spaces to be positioned along an old pumping station, situated in Wapping, London. The design will need to incorporate a balcony and create a ‘green area within an atrium’ effect inside the existing space. An inspiration for the project should be the ethos and philosophy of the Windsor and Newton company. Concept: The design proposal aims to retain the spirit of the existing building by saving as much as possible from the original structure and at the same time, to vivify the existing space by adding something new which will represent the ethos of the Windsor & Newton company. Main mission is to create a dialogue between the old and the new, where old and new are in harmony.

Cuming
Museum
02
Brief: The Cumin Museum, situated in Southwark, London has tried to attract and engage with the local community, and schools. The façade has remained relatively unchanged since its construction more than 100 years ago. The Museum is looking at a way in which it can reach out to the local and wider community and and it has been commissioned to design an intervention/front entrance to the museum which will be sited where the main existing entrance is. The design must be based on a statement of what the museum, its heritage and philosophies that the founding body based the collection upon. The design concept must be based on an artefact which the Museum currently houses or has in its archives. The ‘driver’ behind the intervention must be considered before any committed final design can take place. Concept: As the chosen artifact or ‘ DESIGN DRIVER ’ is a watch key, it can be also defined as a ‘ TIME DRIVER ’ in a metaphorical meaning. Therefore, the design will be based on the concept of TIME .

Design Philosophy
TIME ZERO
SECONDS MINUTES HOURS DAYS WEEKS plan view
The proposed intervention will act as a representation of the ‘ beginning ’ of the journey of a ‘time machine’ . The structure have technicality and mechanics in order to imitate time. It consists of five related pieces that become smaller in size until they reach the existing building. As the pieces become smaller physically, in a metaphorical way they represent the concept of ‘slowing time down’ . The five pieces represent weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds. The visitor will experience a ‘journey of a reverse time machine’. The more he goes into the new structure and the closer he gets to the existing building, the less time is left to reach it… until he reaches the part which connects the new structure with the museum. That part represents ‘time zero’ and leads the visitor to the preserved time which represents the past through the exhibits in the museum. Each of the pieces that constitute the new intervention, consist of three shutters. Overall 15 shutters. The number 4 represents completeness, solidity, and wholeness. This plays a huge part in the design with regards to its philosophy. Therefore every 4 minutes, a single shutter (out of 15) is shut to represent the gradual growth of time. When an hour passes, all 15 shutters are finally shut (1 shutter every 4 minutes) . When a mechanism is fully shut, it would act as one unit that represents completion. The initial philosophy allowed to create a shift from real time to preserved time (frozen time), therefore this pattern would be repeated every hour until the museum closes. - 07 -

coffee house/gallery/workshop Brief: To design a multifunctional centre devoted to Coffee & Art with the intention of social and cultural development. The clients are partnership between coffee companies which intention is to create a ‘different type of a Coffee House’, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and London Borough of Islington. The design should contribute to the development of the area by benefiting people who live and visit the area, and students from Central Saint Martins, and by attracting new visitors. Concept: ‘The Art creates the atmosphere and the Coffee creates the mood, thus, combining the two could only result in a space that inspires…’ -Brandon Davenport A design mission is to combine all the spaces necessary for the coffee industry (like café, roastery, warehouse etc.) with spaces necessary for the creative individuals to exhibit, socialize and collaborate (like Exhibition/Event spaces.)

MISE EN SCÈNE
04
Brief: To redesign an existing residential apartment in Milan by demolishing all the interior partitions. The design should include the re-arrangement of the interior layout and the selection of appropriate types of mobile partitions, glasses and shading systems, in order to create an experimental living space in which light , sound and temperature will be influenced and controlled by their inhabitants and make possible by the design choices. Concept: MISE EN SCÈNE refers to the activities taking place with-in the cienmatic frame. The aim is to achieve flexibility and transparency within the space and different activities within a ‘frame’.The proposal hypothesizes that a dwelling can become flexible when it has the ability to accommodate a wide variety of functions at any given time. This adaptability can be achieved by altering the spatial visibility, thereby changing the setting, and what it feels it can house. Team: Callia Amer, Niccolo Mazzucchelli, Plamena Koseva, Reha Salvi, Wei He Role: Concept development, team management, 3D visualizations.

GLASS FRAMES
Plan
The proposal’s functionality operates by replacing many conventional interior elements. Glass partitions replace walls. These transparent barriers interact with four different types of fabric panels, each with their own transparency/opacity combination, allowing the inhabitants to chose their view as well as their home’s functionality. Mise-en-scène reconceives the idea of the traditional hallway, and envisions this space not only as a center for viewing different scenes, but a focal point of the home. The apartment’s two hallwaylike areas, surround its two bedrooms, providing adjustable areas as extensions of the bedrooms. An indoor garden between the master bedroom and living room brings greenery inside the home and provides ideal scenery, and a generous greenhouse, where two small balconies once stood, allow the clients to interact with nature on a regular basis.
