REFLECTIONS
This 2016/2017 Collection is all about reviving timeless geometric shapes through vibrant colours, high-quality fabrics and meticulous craftwork. In these times of instant, fast-track and ready-togo, we all have an increasing craving of things handmade, well made and made to last. Refresh your home by reconnecting to craftsmanship and creating a mood of authenticity and storytelling by heart. Three designs are reflected in this collection: the embroidered Berber Cushion in a simple geometric pattern inspired by the Maghreb area carpets; the Trapeze Cushion with its geometric shape in a new interpretation in both colour and fabric; and the two-in-one cushion Twist, simple in design and varied colours.
Our ambition is to add an ethnic touch to the clean lines of Scandinavian design and reviving the esteem and splendour of exquisite materials and craftswomanship. We believe in the meeting of cultures, aesthetics and inspiration, and combine different cultural references with a love of traditional techniques, premium quality and colour. We aspire to rethink and revitalize the art of Home Decoration and Living, by creating products that stimulate your senses and touch your soul. STAR CUSHIONS
GRADIENT CUSHIONS
The Star Cushion is Place de Bleu’s signature design per se. It represents the playful meeting between the classic Moroccan Cushion and a more Scandinavian feel. With its round shape and clean lines the Star Cushion makes a colourful addition to any room.
The beautiful gradient colours of green, coral, grey and blue make your heart and mind remember the rich diversity of our planet. The Gradient Cushion represents a unique mix of texture and colours, completed on top with a covered button.
TRAPEZE CUSHIONS The Trapeze Cushions are back in the collection – in a different scale and in new colours. Three fine combinations that give the pattern life in an exclusive way. Our craftswomen’s professional skills make it possible to create this demanding pattern to perfection.
SAMUR CUSHIONS All Place de Bleu designs are inspired by the aesthetics and skills of our employed women. This cushion is designed entirely by one of our very skilled employees, Samur, originating from Syria. The Samur Cushion has a delicate and instantly seductive look and feel that makes it a natural part of any interior decoration.
BERBER CUSHIONS The hand embroidered cushions are a new technique here in the workroom. The beautiful Berber culture has inspired these unique cushions. The simple geometrical pattern is made with the finest 100% wool and lie like pearls on the fabric.
TWIST CUSHIONS Two identical shapes sewn together with a twist – it offers not just one, but two cushions, if you flip it around. Colours and design are highlighted by the unique fabric, we always manufacture our products in. The colours chosen allow you to select both clear vibrant and more subdued combinations.
MELWI CUSHIONS The Melwi Cushion is inspired by elements from the African continent’s diverse cultures. This pattern has its basic shape from leaves. Simplified and put together into a graphic image similar to traditional fabric printing. Here translated into patchwork. The colours have Nordic tones and change from year to year.
GRADIENT MINI MOROCCAN POUF A multifunctional piece of furniture and a modern answer to the traditional pouf. The inspiration comes from the traditional Moroccan ottoman, with focus on handcraft and playful construction. ABOUT OUR PRODUCTS FABRICS All fabrics are surplus production from the Danish manufacturer Kvadrat A/S. That means every collection is limited and some products occasionally may vary slightly in colour or texture. Any irregularities are to be considered part of the design and distinguish the collection as handmade as opposed to factory produced.
FILLINGS AND CLOSURES Cushions have a cotton insert with 100% down/duck feathers. Poufs are filled with tiny polystyrene polyester beads. Cosies are padded with 100% polyester wadding for insulation. Round cushions feature a fabric-covered button on the front and are hand-stitched on the back. Rectangular cushions feature a zip closure in the bottom. HANDLE WITH CARE We recommend dry clean of all our products.
