The lovely wide high street is a great place to spend the day. You are spoilt for choice with a fantastic variety of independent boutique shops with a few well-known national chains thrown in for good measure. If you need a break from shopping you are not short of options for places to give your feet a rest. There are cafes, coffee shops, pubs, hotels and restaurants galore!

If arts and culture is your scene then you are in the right place. There are plenty of galleries in the town with the cinema and jubilee hall adding to the mixing pot – not to mention the town’s most famous son, Benjamin Britten, and the legacy he has left.

Of course, perhaps Aldeburgh’s most obvious and prominent feature is the vast shingle beach – what better place to take in the fresh air on a walk with your hound before enjoying the obligatory fish & chips on the seafront.

History, modern comforts, culture, fun for all the family, fabulous food and drink, Aldeburgh really does tick every box!
