Career Technical Education Programming

GlenOak High School has one of the largest selections of CTE programs of any comprehensive high school in the area. We offer 16 programs that are recognized throughout Stark County for their innovative curriculum and opportunities. Our two-year programs include a shadowing, mentoring, internship, or paid work experience. The CTE programs provide excellent training opportunities to gain licensures, credentials, certification, and marketable work skills to become both college and career ready.

Program Information:

Program Open Houses and Information are made available during the Sophomore Course Selection process for their Junior Year. This occurs in the second semester of their Sophomore Year. Students are encouraged to apply for a Career Tech class for their Junior Year. Career Tech classes are a two-year commitment. Typically, the Junior and Senior Year.

Individual Program Videos are located on the Plain Local Schools/GlenOak High School website under Career Pathways.

Applications:

Applications are available in all Academy Offices, online, and through a Google Classroom Link. See attached application. Applications should be submitted to Leigh Anne Helson, Academy A Office.

Selection:

The following are taken into consideration for approval: • Grades • Attendance • Behavior Students will be notified if they are admitted to their program of choice by March of their Sophomore year.
