JACKSONVILLE, FL PROJECT TITLE: Survey of the Tree Canopy and Tree Planting Priorities
CLIENT:The Public Trust Environmental Legal Institute of Florida, Greenscape of Jacksonville
DESCRIPTION: The GIS team mapped over 580 square miles of tree canopy, impervious surfaces, non-canopy vegetation, water, soil and dry vegetation, and wetlands. Jacksonville’s citywide tree canopy coverage was 48 percent while 24 percent of the city is currently available for planting space. A customized Canopy Planner and Tree Plotter tool was created to allow city officials
