Plan-it Geo’s Certified Arborists conducted a 1,000-tree inventory of Meridian’s Parks and select city rights of way (ROW). One thousand of Meridian’s trees were surveyed for health and maintenance needs. Of those trees 483 were deemed to be in excellent or good condition, the most common species was Willow oak (Quercus phellos) at 10.8% of trees inventoried, and the most common maintenance need was a routine prune. Plan-It Geo’s inventory of street, park and downtown core trees will be integrated with the city’s Tree Management Plan. The inventory data can also be accessed from the City’s Tree Plotter application and downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet or GIS shapefile. View the app: pg-cloud.com/Meridian
