foreword

I am so excited for you to have this tool in your hands. It is a gift of empowerment to you. Follow your yellow brick road of curiosity in these pages. This document has been designed for you to briefly reflect upon life and then create, clarify and claim the phenomenon that is you. I have had the honour of mentoring hundreds of budding entrepreneurs and have studied all the greats in the self help sector. The importance of keeping organised, setting and monitoring goals and understanding your motivation AKA your WHY, should not be underestimated. I searched high and low for a diary that was not just a calendar but a journal, goal planner, habit tracker, sketchbook, ideas log book and an inspiring place to get focused, stay positive, grateful and declutter all in one. When I couldn’t find one I decided to create it myself. There is much power in reflecting on the past briefly before planning for the future, but most importantly, being present and grateful for this very moment and all that we already have. I hope you can use this tool to do just that, all in one place. More importantly I hope you customise your planner and turn it into a great keepsake of memories that you can look back through in years to come. With all my love,

e n i Em

ALIYA ALSO HAS KEY FEATURES DESIGNED TO CREATE POSITIVE DIRECTION TOWARDS YOUR OWN UNIQUE LIFE VISION. reflection

Reflective practice is an essential competency, an important component for growth and integral to high quality psychological care. Dedicated pages within your planner encourage you to briefly review your last years challenges and highlights before reflecting on each month as you progress through your year.

purpose Understanding who we individually are at our core, on a deeper level is crucial. Listing all the things that we love and are excited about helps us to prioritise what’s most important to us and makes it easier to let go of what isn’t. Identifying our true, unique set of curiosities and passions enables focus and clarity for a more for filling and happy life. Without clarity of meaning in our lives we run the risk of a meaningless existence. Use the dedicated page within your planner to indulge and explore your unique purpose

mission

Declaring a life mission statement is putting your purpose of being and your values into words. To do this requires careful consideration of our individual existence. It poses an important question; what does it mean to be successful in my life on my terms? Tackling that elephant question is the first step, condensing your answer down to one paragraph is the second step.

goals

Use your planner to set and monitor your goals through the year. Having goals set is not just about accomplishment but direction. A target to aim for regardless of whether the goal is hit. It’s no secret that writing down goals makes it more likely we’ll accomplish those goals. Tracking and monitoring progress brings encouragement and confidence plus it keeps you focused allowing less room for distraction by the noise of everyday life.

gratitude

Operating from a place of gratitude means living from a positive place. We all know positivity attracts positivity. In order to have more we must recognise that we already have everything we need to be happy in any given moment such as food, water or shelter. It is this appreciation that attracts the world and all its glory to manifest within us. Committing to a regular practice of gratitude is imperative to being aligned and staying on a righteous path. These features and practices in our day to day lives have the capacity to liberate and empower us instantly. Ensure you log all that you are grateful for each week in the dedicated space within your planner weekly.

journaling

We hope you use your planner daily as your happy place. Feel free to personalise your planner and log all your great ideas and create a great keepsake memory to look back on in years to come.

SELF REFLECTION

Self reflection is the school of wisdom. It is no secret that a regular practice of self-reflection is necessary for mental and physical health. Allow this to be a humbling process, use it to look back over your last year from an outsiders perspective, life can be understood backwards first before it is effectively lived forwards.

ANNUAL REVIEW

Everything challenging about last year, what I learned and how I grew.

HIGHLIGHTS The highlights of last year.

LIFE PURPOSE

It has been noted that activities without high levels of purpose is the drain on our future. Our life’s work sits at the intersection of our skills, passions, creative ideas and deepest values. I urge you to make four important lists within the circles below to help you begin to evaluate your life purpose. The first is a list of all that you love doing, the second is all the skills you have acquired. Thirdly, list problems in the world that truly resonate with you. Lastly, log ideas that come to mind of how you could combine elements from all three circles into a project or business that can have a positive impact on the world. Identifying your purpose is not something that typically happens in one sitting. For most it is an on-going process of evaluation and it may change dependant on our individual circumstances. That’s OK. The best example for this practice I’ve come across is by Elon Musk. When he was at university he asked himself what his life purpose would be. He began wondering what the world desperately needed and what his talents and skills were. After considering these in much detail he came up with four possible missions for himself: space exploration, electric cars, artificial intelligence and re-writing the human genome. In the end he pursued and successfully accomplished the first two. Incredible.

LIFE MISSION STATEMENT

In his famous book ‘Think and Grow Rich’, Napoleon Hill demonstrates the power of first writing a statement of what success means to us in our own terms. Secondly outlining what we are prepared to do on a daily basis in order to pursue that idea of success. The most important part of this is the requirement from us to repeat these affirmations 12 times everyday in order to embed them in our minds and program our brains to concentrate on that which is most important to us. There is much evidence indicating the power of repetition in this way over a short period of time. Lastly, we should begin each affirmation with the below paragraph before adding on our personal definition of success and what we intend to give everyday. ‘ ’O divine providence, I ask not for more riches, but more wisdom with which to make wiser use of the riches you gave me at birth. Consisting of the power to control and direct my own and to whatever ends I may desire.’’

MY PERSONAL DEFINITION OF SUCCESS

WHAT I INTEND TO GIVE FOR MY SUCCESS (E.G DAILY ROUTINE)

GOALS

You have more efficacy to create your life than you may realise. What matters most is right now. You cannot change the past and the future is not yet, the only thing we can edit is in this moment. How you feel now and what you are planning for is what will transcend as your future. As Richard Branson once requested from us, picture yourself at 90 years old asking ‘what have I done with my life?’ Put aside any limiting belief, what would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? Do not be concerned with how you will accomplish any of these visions, just list an inventory of what all your dreams are. We go as far as our imagination takes us. Take 20 minutes and list all the things you’d like to accomplish, goals may range from 3 months to 6 months to year to 3 years to 10 years or even 30 years. Indicate in the second column roughly when you’d like to achieve that goal.

LIFE GOALS INVENTORY AKA MY BUCKET LIST GOAL

WHEN

YOUR 04 PRIORITY GOALS There is much genius in simplicity. As Richard Branson once said, ‘Complexity is your enemy. Any fool can make something complicated. It is hard to keep things simple’. With this in mind select your top 4 goals for this year from your life goals inventory. Less goals with more meaning to you is better than too many goals, quality over quantity. Break each chosen goal down into 5 key action steps to use as your milestones. Lastly, set a realistic deadline for each milestone and then chose a reward you would like to celebrate with for each milestone you meet on or before your deadline date.

Draw, write or stick in images of what your future looks like and what inspires you. Express your ‘WHY’. Knowing your ‘WHY’ is a driving force stronger than motivation. When you know why you do what you do, even the toughest days become easier.

END of MONTH REVIEW List all the great things that happened this month.

Did I succeed in the priority task(s) I set at the start of the month? If not why?

HABIT HABIT TRACKER TRACKER

Studies show it typically takes 21 days of doing something consecutively to form a new habit. Which new habit will you form this month? Eg. drink 2 litres of water each day, quit smoking, help someone everyday, repeat your life affirmations, go for a twenty minute walk everyday, meditate or pray are just a few examples.
