Public Consultation 24 SITES PROPOSED TO BE DECLARED AS ‘PUBLIC DOMAIN’
Following the unanimous approval by Parliament, in May 2016, of the ‘Public Domain’ law, the Planning Authority is issuing for public consultation a list of 24 sites which have been nominated to be declared as ‘Public Domain’. Read more
Planning Decision CHAPEL DEDICATED TO OUR LADY OF ATOCIA TO BE RESTORED The Planning Commission approved planning permission for restoration works to be carried out on a 17th century chapel in Hamrun. The restoration will be carried out in two stages. The initial stage will include cleaning of the façade to examine the state of deterioration. Read more
Development Notification PROPOSED NEW CATEGORIES FOR DEVELOPMENT NOTIFICATION ORDER (DNO) The Planning Authority is proposing to add two new category classes to the Development Notification Order (DNO). The classes will cover development related to the Corradino Correctional Facility and development by the Malta Police Force. Read More
Protecting buildings and monuments in Valletta THE SACRA INFERMERIA The Order constructed an infirmary (hospital) in Valletta “in order to provide a house for the needs of the sick”. The construction of the hospital commenced in 1574 during the rule of Grand Master Jean de la Cassiere and was enlarged by Grand Masters Verdala, Raphael Cotoner and Nicholas Cotoner. Read More
