Tea Festival in Sydney & Melbourne Plantgrowpick | The Sydney and Melbourne Tea Festivals are produced by Tea Festivals Australia which is on 18 August 2019, a partnership formed by two Sydney-based tea companies – Perfect South and The Rabbit Hole Organic Tea Bar – who share a passion and vision for tea and the industry. After meeting for tea one day in Erskineville in 2013, the newly acquainted Renee and Corinne lamented over the fact there were no large-scale public events for tea in Sydney. There were all kinds of festivals and events for other drinks, like coffee, wine, craft beer and spirits, but nothing for tea. This made them sad but also fired them up a bit. Inspired by the thought of a huge celebration of tea in their own city, the pair, along with their partners, took matters into their own hands and launched the inaugural Sydney Tea Festival in August of 2014 at Carriageworks. In just a few years the event has grown to become the biggest tea gathering in Australia, with over 80 stallholders and thousands of visitors. Plantgrowpick | Spurred on by the success of the Sydney Tea Festival, in May of 2016 the team hit the road to launch the first Melbourne Tea Festival at The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, right in the heart of the city. And the rest, as they say, is history! Both co-founders continue to run their own growing tea businesses and are excited about the bright future of their favourite drink.
