Extensive production of tilapia is suitable for areas with limited access of water. A combination of traditional agriculture and extensive fish farming contributes to better utilization of resources and more “crop� income. The clue of extensive production is to fertilize the ponds for optimal plankton growth. Plankton is then main source of feed to the fish.

Establishing tilapia pond To ensure hygienic production and possibilities for 100% disinfection we recommend covering the excavated area with a high quality liner. Besides, the applied liner will strongly reduce the loss of water to the ground and ensure a better water quality.
Fingerlings
Fingerlings can be produced on site in a designated area of a pond. We recommend a production cycle with an all in all out regime. Most important is to avoid collapse caused by spawning and overpopulation.
Sustainable production Extensive production is based on using available resources on the farm. Firewood ash, chicken manure and organic residuals are the most important inputs. After 3-4 months (before the fish mature) one can harvest delicious portion sized fish.
Plany is representing the Storvik BIOFLOC system. Storvik BIOFLOC is an intensive land based production system for tilapia especially designed for minimum use of water. This high yield system is designed to give an annual production of 200 metric tons/hectare/year. 03

The bioreactors combined with specially designed aerators gives optimal conditions for fish growth.

BIOFLOC
BIOFLOC is added and cultured in the bioreactor and works as water cleanser and nutrient.
Production capacity
Expected Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR, feed given: fish harvested) is 0.8-1.3. FCR will be affected of various factors as feed, genetic material, temperature, harvest size, management etc.
Plany offer water storage tanks ranging from 10 to 1000 m³. Our tanks combined with power generator, pump, filters and tap stands is a safe and complete system for water treatment, storage and distribution.
ALURONDA CONVERTIBLE
Plany is distributor of the well approved Aluronda Convertible construction kits. Aluronda is a long lasting shelter system with heavy duty aluminium structure covered with canvas. The Aluronda Convertible construction kits can be used both as permanent buildings and temporary shelters.
ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY BUILDINGS
Aluronda Convertible can easily be converted to a permanent building. Our termite resistant structure works as basis for a permanent building of local materials.
